We stopped in Vega because the roads were too icy to continue. There is a Days Inn and a Best Western in the small town. We took the Days inn because it was closest to the exit. The cost was $72 per room. We were traveling with friends and got two rooms. Both rooms were covered in dog hair. There was dog hair on the bed spreads, sheets, pillows, floors and chairs. Both rooms were the same. We asked for a cleaner room but they were sold out. We took the bedding off the beds and they brought us clean sheets and blankets. We had to put the new bedding on by ourselves. The new sheets seemed clean but the room was still covered in dog hair.
When we got up in the morning and wanted to shower, the hot water was all gone. The water was almost warm but not warm enough for a shower.
As I checked out I asked to talk to the manager. I asked for a heavy discount on the room. He refused. He said most people would not have had a problem with the dog hair and that I was too hard to please.
If you are forced to stay in Vega, try the Best Western.
