I enjoyed my stay at the Econo Lodge in Van Horn, Texas.
This hotel is located far enough away from I-10 so that you are not bothered by the traffic sounds. It is very close to a Pueblo grocery market, 2 gas stations, and Chuy's Mexican food restaurant…which I highly recommend for lunch or dinner. I would also recommend stopping
by the Van Gogh Texas Art Gallery and Bookstore to see original and remake works by Ran Horn.
I stayed in a very clean room by myself with a king size bed. The room had plenty of lighting, furniture, oversized bath tub, and cable TV…featuring the Showtime movie channels. The room also had a microwave and a small refrigerator. They also had an ice machine close by. House keeping kept the room very clean and would always replace my towels and soap.
The entire staff was very friendly. They serve breakfast from 6am-9am daily. The breakfast consists of cereal, milk, eggo waffles, muffins, coffee, and / or fruit. I would pick up my breakfast then head back to my room to eat.
The Econo Lodge Van Horn is a couple of blocks from Highway 54 which will take you North toward the Guadalupe Mountains National Park (60 min), or you can turn South and head down Highway 90 towards Marfa, Texas to see the Marfa Lights (1hr-15min).
There are many choices for hotels in Van Horn, Texas but I would highly recommend the Econo Lodge for your stay.
The price was also very affordable…I paid $59/night.
