Having stayed at many bed & breakfast across the country, we enjoyed our stay at Woldert-Spence. The hosts are fabulous and the home was quaint and comfortable (well appointed). Unfortunately, we felt the scramble eggs were over cooked and biscuits were too huge. Lisa's cinnamon honey butter was so yummy. The service and the hospitality, though was top notch!

My husband and I stayed in the Spence room on the first floor. It is a beautiful room with a private screened porch. Chris and Lisa were wonderful hosts. We loved waking to the smell of bacon and fresh scones each morning and coming "home" to fresh-baked cookies every evening. We have stayed at other Texas B&Bs and have found that we are judging their services by the standards set by Chris and Lisa. It is obvious that they love the place and being great hosts. We have no real reason to visit Tyler again, but are planning a return visit to this B&B for rest and relaxation as soon as possible.

Although I had lived in Tyler before, I did not know about the history of the Woldert family or the Manor. Thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Lisa and Chris about the house, the history and getting to know them. The location is central, quiet and comfortable. You have the charm of an old fashioned B&B with all the modern conveniences; blow driers, tvs, wifi. Privacy is ensured since each room has it's own bath. I am already looking for things to do in the area just so I can stay at the Manor! Hope to see ya'll soon!

Chris and Lisa were such wonderful hosts. They make you feel so at home and the place is just gorgeous. We especially liked the sound machine in the room and the homemade breakfast was wonderful, especially the cinnamon honey butter which just melted in your mouth. HIghly recommend if you want a quiet romantic getaway.
