“great stay, super survice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We booked with hotwire, which I dont recomend, they have horrible customer service.
When we got to the hotel we didnt know what to expect after reading the reviews, but they were wrong. The staff was extreamly nice to work with, check in was a breeze. David the staff member at the counter was very helpful, he knew the area very well and was a great help with deciding what to do in the area. They were promt to accomidate on anything I requested and everyone was very nice. The rooms were clean and fully stocked, they even upgraded to room with icebox and microwave without requesting. Breakfast was good and they kept putting more out to give everyone the chance to get what they wanted. The pool was cleaned every morning and was very nice. We would stay here again without any problems. It is about fifteen minets from the beach and just one turn to get there. very well located. If your looking for a decent place to stay with nice staff and clean rooms thats not very expensive, I would recomend this one.

“Do not go. Poor service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 June 2010

I was traveling to Houston to see Nasa and visit Galveston beach along with family. I booked La Quinta's at Texas City, TX. I was very disappointed with the hotel. Most disappointing was when I called them while I was on my way back home to check if they found one souvenir which my kids bought from NASA. I know for sure that kids were playing and they hid it under blanket and forgot to take it while going back. Besides this they are short staffed. I have wait quite a long for check out and check in. The rooms were not ready at 3:30 PM.

I would say you must avoid the place.

“Could not even stay to see the rooms”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2010

When we exited off of the highway my husband said " weekly rates sign, not looking good", we circled around the hotel and lets just say the large fat man hanging over the rail on the second floor was about the best thing we saw. This place should not be allowed to be affliated with LQ. we are trip rewards members and I have NEVER seen a LQ this bad. I went in to cancel our rooms and the staff was very unfriendly. When I told her I needed to cancel because this did not look like a place I wanted to stay, she said " you haven't even seen the room yet". I told her I didn't need to see the room, that the ppl BBQing in the parking lot and all the dogs doing there business on any spot of grass outside had pretty much made up my mind for me. I then called LQ returns and they were able to get us a room close by in a MUCH nicer LQ in Seabrook. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONE!!!!

“DISGUSTING - NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2010

The pictures looked nice and for the price, I thought this was worth the extra 20 minutes we had to drive to our families' houses each day. WRONG! When we pulled up we didn't think it looked too promising but then when we walked into the room I actually thought "Oh, this isn't too bad". The beds looked very nice, clean and comfy. Of course, this was 11pm and we were tired. The next morning I noticed a couple black gross hairs on my bed sheets and in/around the bathroom sink and hairs behind the bathroom door. There was also soap scum all over the faucets and showerhead. Okay..gross but I'll deal with it. Then today we came in from breakfast and between the wind and sunlight when we opened the door, noticed dog/cat hair fly all over the place. They came to reclean so I picked my shoes up out of the way and they were covered in hair. The night before my husband had said "Eww, look at the bottom of your feet". They were BLACK from walking on the carpet barefoot for maybe 20 minutes. So they vacuumed again today but still finding hairs on shoes, our luggage and when putting pants on if they drag on the ground they'll get hair on them. I'm really disappointed and disgusted but really feel that at this point its not worth the move to another hotel....To top things off we have 3 mexican kids running up and down the halls screaming at 11:30 at night while their mother yells from the car cursing at them. Ahhh, vacation.

“Disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2010

We booked our trip through Hotwire (last time we do that), so we naturally were not allowed to request the type of room we wanted. Hotel was almost empty, but clerk said they could not accomodate our request for a king bed. The room was dirty. There was dirt and grease ground into the bedskirts. The desk chair was dirty and stained. The beds were awful - full of hills and valleys. When I found the outlet to plug in my ipod, I saw the outlets and baseboards were covered in dirt. The door to the room was damaged and so rusty that it was hard to close. There were cigarette burns on the bathtub and little hot water. When I went to take a shower in the morning, there was a roach in the tub. Awful, awful, awful.
