Horrible service...rooms aren't clean...Pets in and out if every room...High rates...and rude people...

My daughter and I made reservations here because of a recommendation of family members who have stayed here previously. We arrived late on Saturday night after being in the car for about 12 hours. Upon arrival we were told that we got the next to the last room (not sure why this was important to tell us since we had reservations). We were also informed there was a dog show in the area and there were 100 dogs in the hotel. This worried me a bit, but I only heard one dog bark all night.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Now for the cons: The AC didn't sufficiently cool the room. When we arrived, it was set on 70. I turned it down several times during the night (eventually down to 65) and the room was still warm and muggy. The TV was tube style and the picture tube seemed to be failing, as the top left corner of the screen seemed normal, but the rest of the screen was green. I didn't call the front desk since they had already made it clear there were no other rooms available. The elevator smelled like dog (probably due to the heat and humidity). The halls smelled like cigarette smoke. Again, I think this was exacerbated by the heat and humidity in the hallway.

The breakfast bar was almost empty at 9:00, even though breakfast was supposed to be served until 10. They had bread, muffins, waffles. I got the last yogurt. I didn't see any pastries. They had cream cheese but no bagels. The dining area was hot and full of flies.

Although I think this hotel has the potential to be an excellent value for the money, they fell a little short this trip, mainly because of the AC issues.

We have stayed at this hotel for every year for at least ten years during the Four States Golf Tournament. The price is a real bargain and the location is great for us BUT I like to stay at the room and hang out at the pool while my husband plays golf. There are a lot of missing tiles on the pool and the water was very murky although the pool had only been opened for the season for 2 days. The rooms are fine and they did add microwave/fridge combos this year which was handy. I just hope they will remodel the pool as I never even got in the water the 5 days I was there. A couple of years ago the water was sparkling but the pool was not opened yet because the city hadn't been there to inspect it so it was locked the whole time we were there. I think most of our group is planning on going to the LaQuinta on the Arkansas side next year. It is more expensive but maybe the pool will be better.

The staff was very courteous and helpful, but the hole they had to recover from was too deep. The bathroom light did not work in our first room. The second room lacked the fridge we had asked for and were promised. The manager offered us the suite for our troubles. The room smelled a little funny, but not a huge deal. The ice machine on our floor did not work. Of note, I emptied out the water from the ice bucket left from the last nights stay. The carpet and furniture had quite a few stains. My kids feet were black w/ in the hour, because the carpet was so dirty. Only one remote for two tv's. We pulled out the couch for the kids and found it alsolutely covered in dog hair. The pillows from our bed were covered, also. The staff got us new sheets and were very appologetic. I have had bad rooms at other hotels before, but honestly I am of steam to complain for a free stay. It still wouldn't make it worth while.
