“Small but adequate room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2010

Check in was pleasant, the grounds looked good and the lobby was very nice. Our reservations were handled well and the staff was friendly. The room itself was a little small and darker than I like, but clean and the bed was comfortable. The TV, phone and A/C worked well. While the room was clean, it was obvious that this was a "refurbished" hotel that was something other than a LaQuinta in a past life. The walls had been patched in numerous places and painted over, just the patch... not the whole wall. The tile work in the bath was poorly done but functional. Altogether, everything worked that mattered and the price was reasonable for what was advertised. Where they really fell down was the following morning (Saturday) where the breakfast was advertised until 10AM. We arrived for breakfast at 9:40 and found that everything had been picked over and there was one set of plastic utensils left... and no body present to provide anything. We complained to the front desk and checked out to find breakfast elsewhere. The staff at the front desk did make an adjustment to the billing for the lack of the buffet without being asked to do it. Still, my overall impression is that I wouldn't stay there again.

“Decent, could be better"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2010

Stayed here after a long drive, was just looking for a decent place to stay and they had a decent rate.
Front desk lady was very emotionless. No smile, no happy attitude. But she did her job fine, explain every detail about getting into room and using the shower (the shower switch is on the bottom of the spout)

The room itself is a normal room. A bit dark, but relatively clean, nothing special, but everything that was expected. The bed comforter could use a complete cleaning or just a replacement.
And for some reason though, sleeping was near impossible. The bed itself was very comfortable, but I couldn't find the right pillow(s), which is odd because I had 6 to choose from.

The layout is a bit unique. All the room entries are from interior corridors, but unlike most interior corridor entry hotels that are all one building, this is several units, some connected. Kinda reminded me of a college dorm.
And if you can, request a room not next to an corridor entry. You can hear everyone entering or exiting the corridor, and sometimes when they enter it sounds like they are opening the door to your room.
Breakfast was ok. Variety of items, and okay for a quick, easy meal.

“Clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2009

I stayed at this hotel on 5/27/09. The grounds and lobby are bright and cheery, but the front desk clerk was not particularly helpful or nice. I have found in my travels that most LaQuinta Inn's need updating, and this was no exception. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but rather dark. Okay for a quick over night stay.

“Unpleasantly surprised”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2008

We were quite disappointed with this LaQuinta. They charged a $25 fee for our 40 lb. dog, even tho' the website says "pets welcome" with no indication of fees. When we asked about this they said they were a franchise and not required to follow corporate policy.

In our room we found two wet towels left over from either the cleaner or the previous guest. Also, there was no laundry bag.

They are proud of their "hot breakfast," however, the eggs, potatoes, french toast and pancakes were cold and there was a roach on the floor. There was no decaffeinated coffee available.

The hotel is a rabbit warren of separate buildings. To find an indoor route from our room to the lobby we had to unlock doors with our room key several times.

Although this is a new LaQuinta, it is not a new hotel. It is a remodeled Holiday Inn and feels like an old place.

“Good Middle-Value Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2008

This hotel is not the best in town, but far from the worst.

The breakfast buffet has excellent items and choices. The rooms are a bit crowded and dark. Housekeeping misses some spots. There is a musty smell in the hallways (or smoke, if you are in a smoking wing)

The hotel has a sprawling layout, and I was a bit distant from the restaurant/lounge area.
