“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I recently stayed here while visiting my husband at Goodfellow AFB. I got a great deal on the room through Name Your Own Price on Priceline ($56 a night). When we arrived to check in, they let us know that they upgraded us to a queen suite which was a nice surprise. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. The pillows were good, but not great. The room had a mini kitchen (we didn't use it). The location was pretty good. The breakfast was good, except for the eggs. I thought they tasted like plastic. It was disgusting. Everything else was great.

“Overpriced for what you get.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

Room was overpriced, full breakfast was no better than lower motel continental breakfast.--ham was microwaved, etc. Had to switch room because of noisy air conditioner and gate next to pool--you share the place with people who are residing there on a permanent basis.

“Wonderful away from home, home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2010

The rooms are spacious and all come with either 2 queen beds or a king bed, pull-out couch, large working desk, and a kitchen. Kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, and cook top.
Your stay includes a hot breakfast with scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, fruit, breakfast meats, waffles, oatmeal. Probably the best breakfast we have had in a hotel in awhile!
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings you can also get fed. Tuesday night we had salad, baked potatoes and brownies with either soda, beer, or wine. It was enough of a meal for us. Wednesday night they had hamburgers and hot dogs.
If you don't get enough to eat or drink Cheddars and Carinos are within walking proximity to the hotel.
The only thing I didn't care for was that the majority of the "house" staff was very unfriendly. They don't smile and try very hard not to make eye contact with you. They also don't speak much English, so makes it difficult to request much of anything.
This is a great hotel if you are traveling with kids as the rooms are spacious, they have kitchens, good food, a pool and hot tub, and free laundry; who could ask for more?

“Great place for long term stays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2009

I stayed here for 4 nights with a colleague (in a different room) and it was a good stay. I had never stayed at a Staybridge before so finding a mini kitchen in my room was a pleasant surprise. Like most hotel rooms I stay in, the bedding was very comfy, and the shampoo and soap were better than most. Other nice features were an offering of adult beverages and appetizers in the evenings on Tues, Wed & Thursday. Also, on either side of the hotel are Cheddars and Carinos, so walking to dinner is always a nice option. What I didn't like was the coffee and make-up wipes were not replenished each day so I had to visit the front desk to retrieve those items.

“Good place to Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2008

I have stayed here twice in the past 30 days, both for one night. The main advantage of this place is the very good breakfast and the evening reception, which varies the menu each night. If the reception is appetizing to you, there Is a Cheddars next door and a Carinos (Italian) across a minor street.

There are a variety of rooms, some suites, some not. I had a standard room both times, but was sufficient for a solo, one-night traveler. Though it was out of season, the pool was sparling and the hot tub was hot.

The room was clean and everything in good working order. These hotels carry a little more hallway noise than some, but I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. The bathroom was average size, but clean and plenty of hot water and pressure.

On both stays, the breakfast was outstanding! Real scrambled eggs (not from a mix), biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon and all the other stuff one would expect.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if traveling with a family.

  • Liked — Incredible breakfast
  • Disliked — Hallway noise
