We were only able to stay at the Yellow House one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed our all too short stay. We stayed in the Purple Cottage, and everything about it was very nice and new. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. All of the amenities were VERY nice. Cathy and Brian both seem to have found their calling as innkeepers. There so many little things, such as a bar in the shower to sit on or use for shaving a leg, a Keurig coffee maker with multiple choices of K-cups, bottled water in the fridge, makeup remover towelettes in the bathroom, etc., that made this place and our stay so wonderful. Cathy and Brian were exceptionally kind and respectful of our privacy. I didn't have the breakfast, but my husband said it was delicious. The only slight dent in the experience was the air conditioner/heater. It was a wall heater hung above the bed with a remote control. We couldn't figure out how to turn it off or on without setting a timer. By the time we tried to use it and realized our predicament, it was already 9:45 and we didn't feel right calling Cathy so late in the evening. We are in our late 20's/30's, reasonably tech savvy, but we weren't able to figure out the AC/heater without a manual (there wasn't one around), or some explanation. I'm sure if we had stayed another night we would have managed to figure it out on our own (Cathy would have undoubtedly come and shown us had we asked), but unfortunately it was just one of those things. So, my recommendation to anyone considering staying here would be to go, it's an excellent place to stay, and worth the money. However, you might ask Cathy or Brian for a little explanation on how to use the heater before the sun sets, especially if technology isn't your thing.
