“Wedding Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 February 2011

Pretty old fashioned but I liked it a lot. Workers were nice and breakfast was really good. My friend had a wedding here and that was good even though I didn't sleep here the whole night (I was tired so I fell asleep in the couples bed) it was good I came back later in the morning and had a breakfast here which was good the the workers were friendly to me even though I didn't stay there for the night . All I got to say is wish I stayed here and I will.

“Best Place to stay for any reason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2010

This trip was for business which is not always a fun event! Rob's attention to breakfast and the easy morning conversation was just the ticket to a relaxing morning experience. If you need anything in Salado I have found all you need to do is ask! Someone will surely be able to point you in the right direction.

The house was quite, friendly, and very comfortable making any trip a great pleasure. It reminds me of going home and settling in for a relaxing rest. I can’t imagine staying any place but the Inn.

“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

The Inn at Salado is located on Main Street and within walking distance of most shops and restaurants. It is best for "Girlfriend get aways", but is not a place I would choose for a romantic stay. The inn is clean, with average amenities. The breakfast was very good the first day; on the second morning we were served leftovers from the day before.

“Not the best place but OK. Swing fell out of the roof when I sat down.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2009

The Swing
Yes, at about 9pm we came back from a great day in town. I sat on the porch swing outside our room on the 2nd floor and it pulled two 20 foot board out of the roof and I came crashing to the ground. I wasn't hurt that bad, but could have been (I am not obese at all, btw). We called management and the lady who answered the phone said the manager would be right down. Half an hour later, no one came. We called back and she said the manager had decided to take a look in the morning. No one bothered to let us know. We finally went to bed. Next morning, no one acknowledged anything had ever happened. When we checked out, I mentioned I was the one the swing had fallen on. Management smiled and said, "Oh, don't worry about a thing," as if she was letting ME off the hook for breaking her swing. Incredible.

The Noise
Based on reviews here indicating noise is a problem, we chose Norton Room because it didn't share walls with other rooms. Overall, noise wasn't a problem.

The Food
Delicious food, though they served the same menu both mornings we were there.

The Room
It has some character. I like the sense of history of the place. However, it isn't necessary for the linens to be from the late 1800s too. I swear the blanket I used was at least 20 years old.

“Don't miss this inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 August 2009

I read reviews of all the inns in Salado, and found mixed reviews on all of them. This one had mostly positive reviews, with a few minor complaints. I decided that the positive reviews were more reasonable and decided to stay here. What I found was a very comfortable room, a charming old house, delightful hosts, and delicious breakfast. The inn is located in the heart of town on the main street, but no sound was heard at all. Rob couldn't be a more pleasant and helpful host, and cooks a great breakfast. My opinion is that the complaints you may see about this place are from people who probably wouldn't be happy under any circumstances. Don't miss this one!
