Just staying one night for work nearby. Checked in and was given "guest of the day" honors?? Something like that. It was great, upgraded room (very nice room considering the exterior somewhat dated), couple free drinks and free breakfast! Obviously puts me in positive feelings about hotel from the start. However the positive feelings continued, it was a slow night at the hotel but everyone was friendly. In the lobby bar the bartender was a great bartender who treated everyone like a friend and kept conversations going with everyone sitting around the bar. For a slow quiet night, it was lively at the bar due to the great bartender. Used fitness facility in the morning, nice, not fabulous, but up to date working machines with TV's so that's pretty good compared to most now days.

Overall, good quality hotel. Will come back next time for work.

We have stayed at the Richardson Doubletree numerous times for family and medical visits to the Dallas area. We return because of the reasonable, competitive rates; professional, attentive staff; large rooms. The breakfast buffet is well above average. Quality food is available in the evenings; the bar is great. I notice that many business meetings are held in the hotel as well as social events. If you ask, you may be given coupons for breakfast. Also, I like to stay in the Hilton chain because their Hilton Honors reward program actually works; points build up quickly for free stays.

We stayed at the Doubletree for 5 nights (Sun-Thu) for a week long training session with vacation and couple time in the evening. We were extremely pleased with the hotel. The room was very nice, clean, and large. We agree with some other reviewers that the bathrooms are a bit small, but they are really well appointed. We did come across some issues with the tub draining slowly and the sink not holding water, but they were addressed within minutes of notifying the staff. I am not sure I am a fan of the Sleep Number beds. I tinkered with the settings for 3 nights before I was comfortable. I would rather have them simply spend their money on outstanding mattresses. (Lori, however, wants to state that she liked them!) :)
The training was right in the hotel. It has a good space for this. I would however say that no matter how much the staff attempted to adjust it, the rooms were freezing with too much air conditioning. The attendees were actually going outside to warm up in the mid-80's heat!
The location along US75 is nice. It is easy to go in any direction to a variety of attractions. With light traffic, we made it from dinner in Downtown Dallas back to the hotel in about 15 minutes, if that.
To the reviewer who was able to discern between HHonors and non-HHonors members? How do you do this? We are members and I bet you wouldn't guess we are or aren't. There was no line when we arrived, so it was irrelevant.
We would definitely stay here again even for pure vacation travel. Very pleased.

I stay here every time I go to Dallas (several times a year). Friendly staff, great bar, good breakfast, and free cookies. Location isn't bad either.
