My husband and I stayed for a month at this Hawthorne Suites back in 1996 when we relocated to the Dallas area. We thought it was a great place. We since moved away and were returning to the area, so we decided to stay here again during our house hunting trip. The property hasn't been updated in all the years and it shows. The furniture is the same and is showing wear and tear. The bathrooms are really in need of an update. If they would put some money back into the rooms, it could be nice again. They offer a great breakfast and happy hour.

My husband and myself stayed at this hotel for a week and thought it was a great value for what they offered. We had a one bedroom suite with full kitchen. The furniture could be updated but everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Very nice pool and hot tub.
They had a free hot breakfast and every evening had a meal and free drinks.
There was a shuttle that would take you anywhere within 10 miles.
My only complaint would be the fitness center needed more machines.

Negatives: Room 215 does not have new furniture and furnishings. Must have been designated as a room that allows pets as it smelled like dog. The remodel was poorly done. Looks like they painted over problems instead of fixing them. The couch looked moth eaten and had holes in the upholstery.

Positives: Nice to have full kitchen, very quiet, nice patio, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice and it was not their fault the place was run down. I did not eat the breakfast they provided but it would have been included in the price.

I read several reviews about this property on this site before I stayed there. There may have been problems with rooms in the past, but that seems to have been taken care of. The furniture in my 2 BR loft suite was brand new and quite comfortable. The appliances also seemed brand new. The room was very spacious and clean. They only thing that didn't appear new was a night stand downstairs.
