I read many, many reviews on a number of Port Aransas hotels and was really scared off about staying anywhere. However, Dolphin Express suggested Captain's Quarters and it was a great experience. We started in the middle of the week on the off-season (which spoiled us because we pretty much had the run of the hotel) and stayed through a weekend. There was only one noise problem in the wee hours on Sunday --- but it happened to be some old-enough-to-know better men for about 30-45 minutes. The cleaning staff was great and the texas shaped waffles were our favorite for breakfast. We stayed in an upgraded room and it was lovely. Nice decision about the tiled floors because Port Aransas sand gets everywhere!

2nd time we've stayed here. No complaints. It's a great location for shopping, eating, and fishing.

A friend and I made the trip to Port A in the middle of the week. We stayed in room 116 of the Captain's Quarters. The hotel itself was nice. Nothing fancy, but for the price it met our needs. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were no surprises when the bill was ready to be paid. The room was decent and the facilities maintained. We never went to the pool because it looked so small.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who would rather spend their money on food, drinks and relaxation on the beach.

Stayed here on multiple occasions; they seem to have new management. Some of the rooms have been recently upgraded, and are much better--hope they do them all.

The new people are very cool, and helped me with everything I needed when I was down there. I go for the location and the fishing, but I appreciate the TLC that has gone into the place lately.
