This is our 4rd trip to Port Aransas - 3rd stay in The Dunes. The location of The Dunes works for fishing ... from the pier or from the jetty ... or just its proximity to activity centers. It's also on the shuttle route - for those who don't want to always drive. Views are excellent. There are washers and dryers. BarBQ pits, tennis courts, fish cleaning facility, etc. Our condo was nicely furnished, good king-sized bed, equipped kitchen, expansive picture windows, WIRED Internet, cable tvs, adequate towels...everything was great. A pleasant surprise that we were not aware of when we booked was the '2 bedroom for the price of a 1 bedroom.' The additional space was very nice. We'll definitely come back here!!

You know with the internet today it is real easy to go on and complain about things. But you do not see too many that will go on and talk about how great the experience was somewhere. My Family and I have lived in Texas our whole lives and frequently visit the gulf coast area. We love Port Aransas and have stayed in just about every rental house and hotel on the island except for the Dunes Condominiums. We went down on the weekend of 10/15/2011 and walked in with no reservation and was able to get a room and that was not the only surprise. From the moment we walked in the employees were extremely nice and polite. You could not walk past an employee without them asking how you are doing, if you were enjoying your stay or if you needed anything. The rooms were very clean and neat and the view is beautiful. We even met a few couples that even go there at winter time and stay for a month at a time and I could understand why. I can tell you right now, if you want a great very friendly place to stay on Port Aransas Island save yourself a lot of time and money and give this place a shot. You will not be disappointed at all.

We stayed at the Dunes in April of 2011 and again in August of 2011. The rooms are well equipped and all above the first floor have great views of the ocean. All the rooms have a large, private, covered porch on the back where it's interesting to relax and watch the many ships passing through the channel, a short distance away. The ocean is an easy commute via a board walk on the back of the building, and the beach is cordoned off to keep traffic a safe distance from the water. After getting too much sun on the beach, we enjoyed swimming in the facilities large pool and appreciated it being shaded by the 9 story building until noon. Across the beach from the Dunes, a fishing pier juts a long way out into the ocean. For those like us who didn't catch anything, several seafood markets near by offer fresh catches which are very tasty when cooked on the Dune's gas grill on the bottom floor. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating to insure our stay was enjoyable.

This was our second family vacation at the Dunes. We wouldn't think of staying anyplace else. The location to everything is perfect. The condos have most everything you need and the staff is always eager to accomodate if you have a special request. My daughter dropped her wedding ring down the lavoratory, within minutes of our call for help, Ed was at the door with tools in hand and a smile on his face. The ring was back on her finger before her hubby even knew it was lost. The pool is always sparkling clean and has a wonderful shallow end for the grandkids and the hottub feels so good for us older folk. I could go on and on about the exceptional services and awesome people at the Dunes,.....but I suggest you make a reservation and check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
