“Great hotel...I am impressed!”

I stayed at the Staybridge hotel in Plano, Texas on a business trip. The entire staff there was wonderful. I would like to mention how great and helpful Ken was towards me. He was very courteous, friendly and was able to assist me with any questions or requests I had. Since my stay at this hotel, I have been telling family and friends of how awesome my stay was at this hotel. I also loved my room very much which was very clean and had a kitchen. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Good location, excellent Internet and creature comforts for business travelers”

For the second time this year, I had business travel to the North Dallas area. Back in early July, my host recommended that I stay at this hotel; I liked it so much, I came back. Some noteworthy features: The suite rooms are comfortably large, but at a very competitive price (less than our corporate standard destination). I didn't need the full size refrigerator and kitchen area, but I don't think I paid any extra.

The Internet was surprisingly fast -- don't tell anyone, but you can easily watch your favorite Netflix movies or Slingbox shows in this hotel without any "spins." I suppose once everyone learns this then the usage will bump-up and the performance will degrade.

Likewise the staff at the front desk were super polite and friendly with a good snack food bar; the little goodie bag with an apple, bottle of water and a snack bar were nice (not really necessary).

Room Tip: This hotel is a 7 minute drive to the Galatyn station, the DART train that goes downtown. It helped...

I was not looking forward to spending most of the holidays away from home in Atlanta for my new job. The Staybbridge in Plano turned out to be a pleasant surprise!! The hotel is very comfortable and the staff responds to any request very quickly. Hats off to Alana Blain for doing whatever is necessary to insure excellent customer service.

“Understaffed -- And it hurts, alot”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Front desk was vacant at check in. I waited over 20 minutes. I called from the phone on the front desk counter and rung long and no one picked up at all. Finally, on my third call someone said they were away from the desk and busy setting up the basketball court for a soccer team staying at the hotel. When I wasn't trying to reach someone to check me in, the phone at the front desk counter was ringing continuously. I finally picked it up and it was an irate guest on an upper floor trying to get through -- I could relate.

Worse, I was assigned a room on the bottom floor near the lobby that was overflowing with young guests. I asked for a different room and the staff snidely said "NO WAY, you're with the team.' I was NOT with the team, don't know anything about the team, had no soccer players with me, etc. I did get the feeling the staff's rudeness was because they were harried and rushed because they were short staffed.

On the last night of our stay, past 11:00 pm, several folks were playing basketball or soccer in the room over us for over an hour and it was extremely loud. We had to get up early and so we called the front desk to complain. We had trouble getting through and initially, they did nothing -- the extremely loud noises continued with no change. After about our 3rd call, the desk person came to our room. Ironically, it was during a lull in the basketball game but she did wait to hear the extremely loud sounds and that was when she FINALLY put a stop to it -- but that was over 45 minutes after our initial complaint.

Otherwise, the room was nice and clean and breakfast was ok.

Bottom line is the hotel is severely understaffed. I got the feeling those at the desk were working as hard as they could but were spread way too thin.

I would NOT stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor -- no one can play basketball in the room above you. Ask for an appointment t...

“Only Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Notice how many reviews written for this hotel are written by people who have only written 1 review? Some of these individuals claim to stay in hotels over 50 nights a year but they have only written one review? Very suspicious.
All Staybridge hotels from my experience are above average extended stay properties. This is an average Staybridge; the only thing that's above average here are the employees however there's a tip jar at the breakfast buffet? For what? Maybe to repair the broken toaster?
The reason for only 3 stars is the hotel smell. There are a lot of Asian guest and since the rooms do have a stove top there is a curry smell in the halls and most rooms. If that's OK with you go for it but I will not return. There are better choices in the area.
