For Thanksgiving weekend I had a reservation at this hotel for four nights, in Wednesday and out Sunday, confirmed when I checked in. Initially the key card did not work and the kids and I had to carry everything back downstairs and get a card that worked, then back up. On Saturday night we came in late and were locked out. Went to the desk and the attendant told me that my reservation ended Saturday morning and that if I was to stay another night she would have to charge me for it. Well no kidding! I had to show her my confirmation e-mail indicating the 4-night reservation. She stated that she would have to call her supervisor, to whom she spoke for several minutes, who apparently agreed that the e-mail confirmation was sufficient. A mere 20 minutes later we were back in our room!
Meanwhile, the second morning there we decided to try the continental breakfast. We arrived at 8:30, at which time the only thing left was some powered scrambled eggs sitting in water and some sort of meat crumbs in an adjacent pan, and bread. There was no fruit at all, but I thought I’d at least have a cup of coffee, and of course there was no coffee left either. The attendant who witnessed all of this basically indicated that “what you see is what you get’ (“no Ingles”).
The room itself was not bad at all, just a couple of minor fixer-uppers: shower curtain rod pulling out of the wall and about to fall; upon pulling the shower knob only about half of the water reached the shower head, the rest coming out of the lower faucet; and the kitchenette sink had no hot water - after 2 seconds it only trickled, no big deal there. However, these issues are not important and are very minor compared to the ‘customer service’ at this facility.
