I booked this hotel via Expedia.com and had a horrible expierience with not only the hotel but also with Expedia when I called 4 times to complain after the hotel advised that they could not make any considerations (ie price reduction etc.) Due to the fact I booked via a third party (Expedia disputes this comment from the hotel as false stating the hotel can make considerations) at the end of the day both entities point the finger at eachother.
So here are the issues with the hotel:
1. The first night we check in when we return to the hotel after 1:30 AM we discover that the sliding mechanical doors that open from the street to the lobby are locked. A note is taped to each door stating that the doors are locked from 1:30 AM and reopen at 6:00 AM. A fact that was never shared with us at check in. So we try to use the key card reader in the lobby to gain enterance only to discover it does not work. We proceed to ring the bell in the lobby for 20 minutes and no- one comes to the door....after 20 minutes we begin to bang on the doors when finally a hotel employee let's us in. She states there is only one hotel employee on over night and that the key card reader in the vestabule is broken and has been for awhile. BUT the side and back door key card readers do work and we can get in that way.
NOTE: LADIES, FEEL FREE TO WANDER AROUND THE BACK AND SIDES OF THE HOTEL IN THE DARK TO GAIN ENTERANCE TO THIS HOTEL AFTER 1:30 AM.....THIS HYATT IS CLEARLY SAFETY FIRST!
2. That same night after we finally. Gain enterance to the hotel and go to our room we turn down the bed to find soiled linens. The bed had never been changed. We call the front desk and are advised that we either pack all of our belongings and switch rooms (this at 2:30 AM....because they have no staff) or wait until the next day. After a full day of traveling we sleep on the couch.
The room was cleaned the next day.
3. Day 4 room never cleaned. At 6:00 PM as I'm leaving for dinner I stop at the front desk and tell them the room was never cleaned,beds remained un made, wet towels remain on bathroom floor. I ask that we get clean towels at minimum. Weretun to hotel at 11:00 PM, clean towels are piled on sink, bed remain un made and wet towels remain on bathroom floor.
( Did I mention that now only one of the hotel's two elevators are working?)
4. Amen check out day arrives...and as we are showering and getting ready to leave...we have no electricity. Can't check out formally, can't obtain a receipt and in the general chaos we are unable to speak to a manager, but the front desk clerk promises to have noted all the issues we experienced during our stay to the manager.
And after all four calls to Expedia and reporting the issues directly to the hotel staff no price reduction or compensation was extended. My advise is do not stay at the Hyatt Place Plano Texas and do not book travel with Expedia. Both deliver sub standard customer service.
