We stayed here without checking other Residence Inns because we thought it was closest to my parent's house and having our cat with us, we didn't have many hotel choices. We should have looked farther away.
Checking in was our first issue. We'd booked inexpensive prepaid rate on marriott.com under my account, but my parents had paid with their credit card, and the front desk didn't seem to have our reservation in order, even asking if we'd booked on Priceline (no). She then said she'd go ahead and charge my mother's card then - strange, since it was prepaid (I am pretty sure they have doubled billed her). This is also the only Marriott that didn't recognize my Gold status upon checking in - not a huge deal, but speaks to the disorganization at the front desk.
The rooms were old and dated, with water stains on the ceiling and walls. The dishes in our room weren't clean when we checked in, but the worst part was the noise. We spent three nights listening to people stomping around upstairs and literally jumping off the couch/bed before finally asking for another room on Christmas Day. The front desk initially told us we couldn't move, even though they'd had four other complaints about the room above us already, then she changed her mind for some reason and found us another room. This one was quiet, but still old and dated, with dirty dishes - plus, we had to move all our stuff at 10 pm on Christmas, with a cat.
I will never stay here again. There are two many new Residence Inns in the Dallas area to choose from and I'd paid three times what I did to stay in one of them.
