The hotel is a typical Inn, room is comfy but noise insulation is poor. You can hear the footsteps of people above your room and also the motors roaming in the near-by highway. On the plus side of the room, is spacious for an Inn, it has an in-room mini fridge and a stone table with a little sink above the fridge. This is good if you're traveling with babies and need to store baby-formulas or food or similar stuff.

It has a little pool that has good maintenance. It has a little dining room that serves breakfasts in the morning. Also theres a mini business room with 2 computers and a printer.
The parking lot is spacious.

The best thing is that is between 5 and 10 minutes away (depending on traffic) from La Plaza Mall. And to mexican travelers that's a lot!!! So this hotel doesnt have any of the crowd troubles from mexican tourists flocking to shop in mcallen.

Its located on N Cage Blvd towards Edinburg, Texas. And if you travel further to the north, you'll find the so-called "Trenton Corridor" which is a newly developed shopping zone located in between Pharr and Edinburg.

The Country Inn and Suites is located in a great area, right along the highway and Nolana. Their rooms were large and clean, high ceilings make it feel even larger. Our room had a fridge and a microwave which was handy for the kids snacks. They have a laundry room on the second floor. The have a guest office with computers and internet access, so I was able to access my email and facebook. The pool is pretty big and they also have a hot tub, which were open until 10PM. They were good about kicking us out right on time at 10PM from the pool, because there were rooms that fronted the pool that I'm sure wouldn't want to listen to the noise all night. They have a small library that you can borrow from for reading material. The free breakfast was really good. The lady who cooks it on the weekends was really nice, once she found out we loved the local food, she made their typical breakfast. So if you like the Mexican breakfast, and your there on the weekends, be sure to tell her!

We did have a couple of issues while we were there, the first being the room keys. Every day, it seemed it was morning and afternoon, our keys stopped working, and we would have to walk around the front to the lobby and get them re-programmed. We never had them near our cell phones or any other device that might make them stop, they both just stopped, it really did get annoying, especially at night. You also need your room key to get back into the hotel from the pool area, so take it with you. Sometimes the key would stop working while we were out in the pool and we would have to take the back gate and walk around the front to the lobby to get back in.

The other issue was when we checked in, the front desk told us that we should be safe if we parked our car along the side of the hotel, but to not park in the back, someone might steal it.

We like the Country Inn and Suites in Pharr. We have stayed there several times over the past few years on our way to and from Mexico. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The manager was especially helpful when we needed his assistance during our last stay.

The lady who serves the breakfast is especially friendly, and we feel like special company visiting her.

This is always our first choice when we stay in the area!

The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Wifi was fine. Breakfast was fine when it was on time. However there were several problems that occured which made us decide not to stay there again.
1) Lack of hot water for showers. 8 of us stayed 4 days in 3 rooms and only one morning did we have hot water. We were told that the heater was for three motels there together and since the weather was cold it was not staying warm when it traveled to our rooms.
2) The pool was out of order.
3) One morning we had to be up and leave early and the breakfast was supposed to be ready at 6 a.m. It was not ready until 6:40. Another morning we paid for breakfast elsewhere because we had to leave early again.
4) The first night we had someone overhead who was pacing back and forth constantly beginning at 9 p.m. Sometimes it was more of a stomping. We complained two times. The desk clerk was very nice and went to talk to the person and the last time told us we could move. I think he should have made that person move.
