“Great value for a short stopover”

We stayed one night in this easy to find and well-located Best Western, just a few minutes drive from the old town of Nacogdoches, which is said to be the oldest town in Texas.
Our room was just as you would expect of a BW, ie spacious, clean, with coffee making facility, fridge, and a complimentary buffet breakfast. There was a laundry on site, as well as a swimming pool. Nacogdoches itself is a nice little town, with a great Visitor Centre in the "old town" area, setting out the history of the area, with a video explaining the 9 separate" rulers" of Nacogdoches since earliest times. The Clear Springs Resaurant on Old Tyler Road, about 10 minutes drive away, was a great casual place for catfish , with good service, and very reasonable.
All in all, the hotel provided great value for a one night stopover.

“Good with the basics”

I stayed at this hotel for a family event. The room was clean and the property well kept. The ladies at the front desk are very kind. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, althought the waffles shaped like Texas were cute. If you're nto staying long term, this place is ok. Its right on Highway 59.

“Served a purpose”

I usually book all my hotels before we travel and using Trip Advisor have not yet been let down. We booked in here on the off chance, as the day we were travelling we had intended to stay in Center, but got there too early, so went on, hoping to find something in Nacogdoches. It was OK but nothing special. The front desk lady was extremely helpful giving us maps of the area (the old town is charming).
It is right on the highway but the road noise was drowned out by the a/c noise, which was a common problem on this trip.
There was a very nice pool area behind the building, which overlooked a grassed bank and trees.
It was a little dated with dark wood furnishings but wasn't in bad order but it did have that musty smell on entering the room, which is typical of some older properties & the lighting in the room was very dim.
The breakfast was decent and it was great value for money.
Being on a main highway shops and restaurants weren't too far away and it was a drive into the old town but worth a visit.

They have a pool although I didn't use it. Had a good breakfast, with little waffles in the shape of Texas. Arby's next door was convenient for dinner. Clean but a little dated. Pillows good and staff friendly.

“Pleasantly surprised...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2010

I was worried about staying here because of the reviews but it was Homecoming weekend so I didn't have many options. All the staff were very friendly, from the check in/out staff to housekeeping. The room was an average-looking room. It was very, very clean.

My only complaint is that I could hear every person walking by the room and I could hear everything that they were saying. Since it was Homecoming weekend, there was partying all hours of the night. I don't think I'm a light sleeper, but these people were screaming! Once they left, I realized I could hear the traffic on the highway. I don't think the traffic noise would have bothered me had I not already been awake because of the loud people outside the room. My friend is a heavy sleeper and she did not hear a thing all night!

I might try another hotel during a busy SFA weekend since I know this hotel definitely doesn't have soundproof rooms, but otherwise, I would definitely stay here again.
