This was a business visit to the Valley Area in The Texas Border. As most Holiday Inn, this one has great amenities, great service, you get what you pay for a three star hotel.
Positives:
Location, This hotel is few blocks from the mayor hwy 83. Near several restaurants and located to a fair distance to shops, airport and all cities in the area; McAllen, Mission, Pharr, Edinburg.
Rooms are clean and spacious, bathrooms offer a fair selection of towels, very spacious and neat. personnel is very friendly and helpful. hotel has a swimming pool, gym, business center and breakfast is included. Parking is somewhat safe and is free.

negatives:
Breakfast needs improvement, eggs are flavorless. Other Hotels in the area offer a better breakfast at a lower rate per night. The business Center didn't have a scanner available. was inconvenient since I needed one for my business. I had to use a Kinko's office. The a/c unit makes a loud noise during night, plus it leaks on the floor which generates mold. The gym needs weights, there is not much to work out with, few thread mills and a bicycle.. Rooms do not have a flat TV screen, a bit surprising since most hotels at that level come with flat screen TVs. (not really a big issue, but something you will expect at this chain). and lacks of views

overall it is a great hotel, no mayor complaints, very calm and tranquil area, stuff is very friendly, they had some sort of happy hour event every evening with snacks and drinks.
Our stay was comfortable. I wouldn't mind coming back to this hotel, however if I find a better hotel for the same price I will probably choose one that has better breakfast, better gym and a quieter A/C unit.

Stayed on business. Good breakfast and late afternoon snacks/lite dinner. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were quiet and beds were comfortable. Close to restaurants and highway 83

Our stay was very comfortable. The room was not very spacious and we would have liked to have a flat screen but ouverall it was very good, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is really big. The included breakfast was also good.

I stayed here for a single night while on business in the Mission/McAllen area recently. This hotel is well located just south of US-83 on Shary Road and is very close to a multitude of restaurants and stores. Check-in and out were handled very quickly by their efficient and friendly staff. I stayed in a very large, decently decorated room that was very clean. The bedding and linens were good, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. The TV was NOT one of the newer HDTV's but was decent. The room was not equipped with a microwave or small refrigerator. The room rate included a very good continental breakfast that included hot items (eggs, bacon, biscuits, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, gravy, etc.) as well as the usual, coffee, milk, juices, breads, fruit, yogurt, etc. A nice feature was the "Managers Reception" where they provided appetizers (Chicken wings, chips, queso, chips) and beverages (beer, wine, water, cokes, etc) in the early evening hours. There was nice business center with a single computer, internet, and printer. This is a very nice place and I will definitely consider staying here again when in the Mission/McAllen area.
