“Terrified (Dress Code for Front Desk & Sanitation & Service)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

First hand why would you not dress properly or neat for work. Seems like they do not care how they dress. The frontdesk clerks appearances are ridiculous. I have stayed here every other weekend. Because it is convenience for me to stay here. And there is this kid with tatoos, he is very nice. But everytime I go into the Velvet Room he is in there like he is running the place. And no one to attend the Front Desk. There has been quite a few people asking where is the front desk clerk. The doors are locked, which is good for safety. And there he goes running to the front desk. I see no management at all. Housekeeping is awful. The rooms are half you know what I am trying to say. Pure laziness. The beds are wrinkly, floors look like no mopping has been done. Tub is dirty most of the time. The doors from the back exits are always left open with rocks. What kind of safety is that. Breakfast is good, but the area is dirty not well santized. I think I will no longer stay in your Hotel. Front desk people's dress code is a major joke, housekeepers are filthy themselves, no kind of safety. If I owned this hotel I would be very embarrassed of myself. This is my last stay. I am here 01/08/2012. My last night stay. I will only come to your club. That is it. The front desk kid is in here right now mingling with the people instead of doing his job at the frontdesk. See what I mean. What kind of business is this. Terrible thing.

“This hotel is spooky at best”

I bring my company to Midland twice a year on business. We have stayed at this hotel the last 4 times. We keep thinking that since it has been "under construction" for the past several years that at some point it would be done... and decent again. No such luck!!
Out of the 3 floors, floor 2 and 3 are totally torn up and hopefully being redone. The windows are broken out and hanging open. The floors are torn up in most areas of the first floor. The pool has been empty for years. The breakfast is not worth eating. of the 4 nights we stayed there we had wet towels put in our rooms one night and no towels put in our room on other night. The desk could not find us any towels either. My room had blood stains on the chair. One of the other rooms had blood stains on the comforter. What a mess. No management.
The location is so good for our business appointments that I hate to give it up. I just don't think we can keep giving it more time to get in decent condition..... but we will.

“Disgusting, offensive, and never to return”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

I stayed at the Midtown the week of September 25th checking in that Sunday. Kaitlan checked me and was very polite and competent. The first room I checked into was missing a desk and chair and they gladly moved me. The next room seemed to be fine after I changed out the TV remote batteries. However at 11 pm I turned the bed down and found the sheets were filthy with sand and grit. A third of the way over on the bottom sheet (on which one sleeps) and about waist down was a dark brown stain. I could not believe it. It was the most disgusting moment I've ever had in hotel and I've stayed at hotels all over the world. If it wasn't so late I would have fled. Jackie from the front desk came down to the room, inspected what I saw and was equally disgusted. I moved to another room and by 1 AM was finally to sleep. Monday morning I put in a call to the manager (Yvonne) and after no return calls for two days and a missed appointment she finally called me back (Wednesday). She was aware of my complaints and before we got too far into the conversation she said that she'd inspected my room and that all she saw on that bed was a yellow stain. I was absolutely incredulous and when I said her response was unacceptable and insisted I get resolution somehow or someway she told me to come get my things and check out. I refused to do that due to the inconvenience it would cause and I subsequently checked out as planned on Thursday (September 29) that week. Yvonne's abrupt dismissal of my complaint indicates to me that these things are normal occurrences to be summarily dismissed.
