Clean, comfortable, and spacious rooms. Staff was courteous and helpful. Many good restaurants nearby. We plan to take advantage of the 14-day advance purchase discount on our trip home in January.

My group is starting a project in this area, and a group of staff stayed at this hotel. There was a paperwork problem with one of the staff that was discovered after 5:00 pm. Even though she had proper employment identification and the hotel received paperwork for the other staff, the manager was unwilling to work with her for the night. The manager (Mande) said "she can sleep in one of your rooms until this gets worked out in the morning." When I asked for contact information for a regional manager, I was told "I am it, there's no one higher." When I asked who owned the hotel, she refused to give any information and said "they won't talk to you."

Luckly some of our staff were at the Marriott and had a wonderful experience. You can bet that we will be staying at the Marriott for the remainder of this 6 month project.

I'm quickly becoming a fan of Holiday Inn Express after staying at one for the second time in six months for business and having just a great experience. My king suite room was large, clean, full of nice bathroom amenities and very quiet. The bed was most comfortable, the satellite TV selection viewed on the widescreen LG monitor was outstanding, and the wireless Internet was lightning fast!

Free breakfast buffet offered many choices and the food was above average. Staff working the morning breakfast went out of their way to be polite, friendly, and helpful.

I did have a bit of an issue with front desk staff who, on check in, didn't give me the usual schpiel about when breakfast was and other amenities ... but that was probably the only blemish. They weren't the most friendly at the start but that really was probably the only negative of my experience.

We were in Midland on some personal business and decided to stay at the HI Express and it was a great choice. We will stay here again. The place looked brand new. We got a great rate and upgraded to a King Suite at no additional cost. The rooms were spacious, very clean, no smells, bed was quality, room had a larger sized mini-fridge, bar area with sink, microwave and some utensils, and a sleeper sofa in the sitting area. The bath was spacious, fresh and well lighted. AC worked great. Each of the staff members were very helpful with information, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. The "continental" breakfast was a huge spread that included meats, eggs, bagels, great homemande cinamon rolls, good coffee, juices, milk, etc etc etc. The hotel is convenient to shopping, restaurants, large movie theatre. We liked that it was a pet and smoke free hotel. We will stay here again. They also have a nice fitness center. If I had to name a few things to do different - Ask for a room on the non-highway side. While there was no significant noise that I noticed, I think there could be during rush hours. Also, the bath did not have a vent or separate heater which could be nice in winter. And, if you want to pay cash you need to pay first not at checkout. Otherwise a great place and we will stay there again on our next time through.
