Stayed here after getting a good deal on a last minute holiday. Rooms here were clean and well maintained. The floor I stayed on had been re-furbed, but could see from the lift that some other floors had not yet had a touch up.
Breakfast was fine had everything you needed and was hot. Never stayed for dinner so can not comment. The hotel grounds seemed to be we run. 3 pools and one that was heated. Beach front and close to bars and places to eat.
The only down side would be the slow service at reception. Also I was sharing a double twin room with a friend and it would have been nice to have a bathroom with a door. We had to manage with a glass door with no lock! fine if you ar couples! I would stay here again.

We got a last minute cheapo deal thru Portland - very good value for what we paid. Hotel is in a great location in between Costa Adeje and Las Americas.

Our room was a 'side sea view' on the 9th floor which was very comfortable - great to have TV as well with both BBC news and Sky news.

There is no wi-fi, but internet stations in hotel cost about E1 for 15 mins - great to check emails/facebook etc etc.

There is an ATM in the hotel reception and rates were very good.

Hotel needs modernisation - it resembles a typical 70's Spanish hotel - some of the floors are being renovated, ours not . Room itself was modern, clean and very airey.

We were half board, food was OK but we like to linger over our food and found the dining hall rather rushed and noisey. We did eat out on the last 2 nights.

No problem with sun loungers, there were plenty in all the pool areas. Pool towels can be hired for a small deposit.

There are both daytime and evening activities but we didnt take part. Evenings we used to go to 'Oscars' Bar (out of hotel turn left up the bank) - fantastic entertainment with Ray and his team.

I did not see many children, most of the guests were 50+ - but it was winter when we visited.

Just returned from a two week stay in The Gran Tinerfe in Playa de las Americas. Last stayed there 4 years ago and it is still an excellent place to stay. The only drawback was that road flow has changed to a one way system. This means that a bus service from the doorstep is not now available and a short uphill walk is necessary to use the excellent bus service, get a Bono ticket to save on fares. There are car hire facilities at very reasonable rates close by
The hotel is a bit dated now, nevertheless its a good place to stay as it is right on the seafront and upper floor sea view rooms give a wide vista of the surroundings. The food is good and plentiful with a wide variety. The only drawback at evening dinner is that the waiter wants your drinks order even before you have been seated - a bit too much of a rush to make an informed choice.

The room maintenance is very good and special mention must be made of Teresa our maid on floor nine. When we went to bed the first night the pillows and bedding reeked of tobacco [supposedly a non- smoking room] Next morning after bringing this to the attention of Teresa, all the pillows and bedding were completey replaced and a spirited use of deoderants helped. Smokers are universally the most inconsiderate hotel users! [ A personal opnion]

Finally a mention for Maria Jorge the hotel public relations contact. She does an excellent job and always has time to talk no matter how busy she is. - Definately a good hotel and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

My wfe and I stayed at the Hotel for two weeks 28th Nov to 12th December, we had a lovley clean room number 340 with terrace. The food in the restaurant was excellent quality and maids came on a daily basis to make the beds, clean the room and bathroom and put out fresh towels. A special thanks to Nieves and Teresa the room Maids for your courtesy. We found all members of staff at the hotel to be courteous and freindly and complement them on that.

We had a wonderful two weeks.
