So lets start with the positives. The front desk staff were lovely and helpful and we definitely recommend renting a car and touring this extraordinary geographical phenomenon.
Although we have travelled extensively and have become used to certain standards, the standard here was post war East Germany, as were the beds.
Not only were cockroaches crawling out of my husbands pants after we were there for a few days and unpacked, our lampshades where 1/2 ripped, there were holes in the walls and brown guck splattered on the ceiling.
While I agree that the tickets on the pool chairs are a great idea,it is not a great idea to constantly tell your guests on the all-inclusive package, that they can't have anything. I have never heard the words "not for you"so may times, in any place I have been to, and this includes France! For example, you shower, you swim for 20 minutes, get out and go back into the pool ,within 5 minutes (you are presumably clean) and you are then chased by the pool attendant and told you need to shower again. So 20 swims and 20 showers. Have past clients really been that filthy?
You could also not take anything out of the diningroom and that would include coffee after breakfast, if you wanted to have one on the terrace. You could essentially have 20 small ice creams but God forbid you could have 1 large one as that "is not for you"! The food was adequate especially if you are a fan of buffets day in and out. One thing that was really surpising is that Spain has fantanstic orange juice, however the Canary Islands must be a big destination for astronauts as I am quite sure we were served Tang everyday.
The grounds are very nice and the weather in April was super.
I would never recommend this hotel. It would be better to rent an apartment or a villa, buy your food and enjoy the island without being held hostage by an all inclusive plan.

Dear Robert,
Thank you very much for your comments about your stay in Iberostar Costa Canaria.
We are delighted to know that you and your partner felt so well attended by our staff, it is a good input to motivate our team.
Firstly, my most sincere apologies for any inconvenience experienced regarding the cockroaches. With no pretence of serving as an excuse for this situation, we have pleasure in announcing that we have been certified for applying a quality program and fumigation, and both of them are applied correctly by our team. Our hotel has a lush garden area of 7,000 sqm so even if the fumigation process is done day in day out and correctly by our staff, sometimes nature’s insect pass by our gardens. Not only insects, we also have the occasional wild parrot, many species of birds and the occasional friendly cat.
Our “All Inclusive” Programme features national brands of drinks. Any international brands are available at an extra supplement, as indicated in the bar areas.
I would also like to thank you for sharing your observations with us as this gives us the opportunity to make improvements and thus offer all our guests better service, which ultimately is the goal of Iberostar.
We assure you that we will continue working to improve your next experience with us.
Yours sincerely,
Online Experience Manager, Iberostar
