“A top class hotel and a wonderful holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We have stayed at many 4 star hotels but this one gets first prize for quality and service, we've been here twice and have just booked again for 2013. The food was excellent combined with first class service, the staff were the best we have ever experienced.
The entertainment in the evening was top quality the whole place and all the guests radiated a happy atmosphere.
If one wants a lively evening that's only a 5Euro taxi ride away at Play de la Inglis, but if one want a quality evening it's all in hotel.
We have recommended it to all our friends.

Room Tip: All room are sea facing which is great.

“Boring”

I went there with my bofriend in June 2010 but I didn't realized it was a Saga holiday. The food was ok, area too but there was nothing to do for a young couple. Also it was out of season and other hotels were empty. This one was full of "Saga" people and I am sure they've enjoyed it but definitely wouldn't reccomend to yuong people - too boring and activities are for old people only. Also it's all inclusive but you have to pay for tennis - the only activity we were keen to do.

“Super holiday”

What a wonderful hotel. We went with SAGA but there were many others from other agencies there. Most of us were over 50.
The staff were friendly, rooms spotless, dining room open for a long time, food replenished immediately and of good quality.
We couldn't fault it.
It's in a quiet place with walks along the promenade to Playa Del Ingles. It had everything we wanted and we would happily return
One lovely aspect was that they gave you a card with which to reserve your sunbed and that was yours for the duration. There were plenty of beds, in full sun, shade or on the grass and plenty of umbrellas. So you picked your spot and there was no need for anyone to go out early with towels. If you didn't like your choice, you could move anywhere else that was free.I wish other hotels would follow suit.
There was entertainment, fairly low key, every night and some good music for (mostly ballroom) dancing. daytime activities were available very hour, such as shuffle board, darts, petanque etc. Very few Brits joined in, though we did and had a good time with some of the german guests. It's a good way to improve your language skills!!

Room Tip: They were all lovely and very large. All have views of the pool and sea.

“Worst hotel stay since I was 18 and broke in Mexico”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

So lets start with the positives. The front desk staff were lovely and helpful and we definitely recommend renting a car and touring this extraordinary geographical phenomenon.

Although we have travelled extensively and have become used to certain standards, the standard here was post war East Germany, as were the beds.

Not only were cockroaches crawling out of my husbands pants after we were there for a few days and unpacked, our lampshades where 1/2 ripped, there were holes in the walls and brown guck splattered on the ceiling.

While I agree that the tickets on the pool chairs are a great idea,it is not a great idea to constantly tell your guests on the all-inclusive package, that they can't have anything. I have never heard the words "not for you"so may times, in any place I have been to, and this includes France! For example, you shower, you swim for 20 minutes, get out and go back into the pool ,within 5 minutes (you are presumably clean) and you are then chased by the pool attendant and told you need to shower again. So 20 swims and 20 showers. Have past clients really been that filthy?

You could also not take anything out of the diningroom and that would include coffee after breakfast, if you wanted to have one on the terrace. You could essentially have 20 small ice creams but God forbid you could have 1 large one as that "is not for you"! The food was adequate especially if you are a fan of buffets day in and out. One thing that was really surpising is that Spain has fantanstic orange juice, however the Canary Islands must be a big destination for astronauts as I am quite sure we were served Tang everyday.

The grounds are very nice and the weather in April was super.

I would never recommend this hotel. It would be better to rent an apartment or a villa, buy your food and enjoy the island without being held hostage by an all inclusive plan.

Dear Robert,

Thank you very much for your comments about your stay in Iberostar Costa Canaria.

We are delighted to know that you and your partner felt so well attended by our staff, it is a good input to motivate our team.

Firstly, my most sincere apologies for any inconvenience experienced regarding the cockroaches. With no pretence of serving as an excuse for this situation, we have pleasure in announcing that we have been certified for applying a quality program and fumigation, and both of them are applied correctly by our team. Our hotel has a lush garden area of 7,000 sqm so even if the fumigation process is done day in day out and correctly by our staff, sometimes nature’s insect pass by our gardens. Not only insects, we also have the occasional wild parrot, many species of birds and the occasional friendly cat.

Our “All Inclusive” Programme features national brands of drinks. Any international brands are available at an extra supplement, as indicated in the bar areas.

I would also like to thank you for sharing your observations with us as this gives us the opportunity to make improvements and thus offer all our guests better service, which ultimately is the goal of Iberostar.

We assure you that we will continue working to improve your next experience with us.

Yours sincerely,
