The surroundings:
Very quiet, built-up area with hotels and appartements primarily. Literally located next-door to the Centro Commercial San Agustin (shopping center). Food store, drug store, bars and some restaurant available here. Newsagent with german, and scandinavian newspapers (day old). 100 meters to the beach Playa Las Burras. No on-site restaurants.
The subjective:
The shopping centre is rather dull and with not to high a quality restaurants. In some of the appartements the airconditioning is very noisy, with sharpe noises. This is due to the fact that the AC is mounted on interior walls and has installed a pump to clear out the condensation from cooling the air. It's the pump that make the noise and very regular too. Warning: This may degradate your sleep.
Some of the ground floor apparatements may be bothered by cockroaches (as they thriwe in the humid climate). Location is quiet but also a bit to far away from Playa del Inglés to reach attractions by foot.
It's a rather long walk (3 km) to get in to Playa del Inglés town. The Playa Las Burras has black, very sticky sand.
Better and much nicer restaurants in Playe del Inglés or Maspalomas.
Tip: Pay €6 for a cab ride to Maspalomas (Centro Commercial Varadero), go through the shopping center, go left and you'll find plenty of restaurants. The cheapest and possibly the best is the italian restaurant at Gran Hotel Lopesan Costa Meloneras. This restaurant is open for non-resident guest aswell. Come early to take on the oceanview. To enter you'll have go through the hotel lobby or to ask the gatekeeper of the gate at CC Faro to let you in. Speak politly and you're in. Dress up a little bit.
Overall:
Great place to relax. Many returning guests.
