We stayed at Palm Gardens in July 2011. I had booked a one bed apt but when we arrived we were allocated a studio. I wasn't really happy about this until I saw the apartment, for a studio, it was very big with plenty of room. I have stayed in 1 beds before that were smaller than this studio. We were on the 9th floor and the sea view was truely majestic. Huge balcony which is a lot more private that I had thought from photos of the complex. Cleaning staff were in 5 days a week and our cleaner was a lovely friendly woman. Towels were changed 3 times a week and sheets were changed twice during our 10 day stay.
Breakfast is served between 8 and 10am and is 6 Euro, large selection of breads, meats, cheeses yogurts etc with a hot selection as well. Only downside was their coffee which was dreadful. Evening meals were served between 7 and 8.30 pm and cost 12 Euro, we didn't eat there so can't comment on the quality of food.
The swimming pool is large with plenty of beds although the pool bar didn't open at all during our stay. There was the main bar which served drinks and snacks but this was on the 1st floor when the pool was on the 3rd which was not ideal.
Considering we paid just over 400 Euro for a 10 day stay, we got excellent value and service.
Jandia/Morro Jable is mostly visited by German holidaymakers and there are few enough people even in bars and restaurants who speak English. I have a fair bit of Spanish so we managed well but if you don't then try to learn some.
The best restaurants were in the old part of Morro Jable, a 2.50 taxi ride from the Palm Gardens apts, Restaurant Laja is the best for fish, if you eat there don't bother with the menu for main course, just ask what is fresh today and they will bring you out a selction on a tray. The other restaurant worth mentioning is just beside Laja and is an Italian called Restaurant Matterello. Really excellent dishes and friendly staff.
One word of warning for Jandia beach, the wind always comes off the land and blows out to sea so you are taking your life in your hands if you go into the sea with an inflatable. The wind can whip up at a seconds notice and an inflatable can be blown out to sea in an instant.
Another nice thing about Jandia/Morr Jable is that there were no PR/touts outside any restaurant or bar. This meant you could spend a few minutes looking at a menu without someone grabbing your arm to pull you in.
