We have recently returned from one week at the Oasis Golf Jandia. As you can see from the other reports we were the only English people in the hotel(not that it bothered us, it made a nice change)the majority were French with a few Germans. Infact the morning we left it took two whole coaches to transport the French to the airport! All of the entertainment was in French only.
The hotel is isolated but runs a free mini bus to the beach ( a bank with ATM and Spar shop are near the bus stop). The first one leaving at 10am and the last one returning at 17.50. They go every 40mins throughout the day apart for an hour over lunch. So if you want to escape in the evening you would need to taxi back which was about 5euros. It is possible to walk across the golf course and through a gate at the bottom and down a dirt track which brings you out near the zoo. It takes about 30 mins.
The supermarket on site is closed so I would not recommend going selfcatering unless you hired a car.
The golf course is very nice, but it is not open yet and nobody seemed to know when it would be opened, although every morning 3 or 4 men would be cutting the greens.
We had a very large one bedroom apartment overlooking the golf course with a long thin verandah with a table and two chairs. Everything was very clean. Sounds echo down the open corridors and the walls could do with some soundproofing as you can hear most of what is going on in the room next door.
Two lovely pools and one kiddies pool, plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas. Shame about the constant wind.
Food was OK considering it was geared to European taste but we always found enough to eat even if was usually the same thing. Very good selection of fresh fruit.
A week was long enough as Jandia was not for us as we are not sunbathers and it is too remote for exploring the rest of the island.
