“A good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2008

This is a great place to stay IF you understand the location. Morro Jable itself is quite isolated from the rest of the island, but has access to great beaches.
We're not resort lovers, so the fact that the hotel is a couple of km from the resort wasn't a problem to us. We thought the hotel was terrific value for money, with helpful smiley staff, great rooms, well-maintained gardens and pool and ample facilities. There wasn't much evidence of entertainment - certainly nothing intrusive to keep you awake! Most guests were German, with French Spanish and British appearing to be equally represented.
We had a car and stayed half-board. The minibus to the resort appeared to run regularly and promptly - but you might be better off staying all-inclusive if you haven't got transport.
Food is fairly simple, plentiful and there was always a wide choice both at breakfast and dinner (e.g. pasta dish, paella-type dish, casseroles, grilled meat and/or fish, salads all available each night).
The golf course (not part of the hotel) IS open for business. The gym is basic (some weights, a cross-trainer and a bike). Contrary to some listings there is no sauna.
If we go to this part of Fuerteventura again, we'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

“not value for money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2007

this is a failed golf project trying to recoup its money by catering for the great french unwashed on all inclusive.i refuse to believe that they were able to take a full family all in on the same rate that we were paying for b&b therefore felt i was being ripped off. The hotel location is quite remote and thoughts of a post prandial walk into town were impossible after dinner . staff were ok apart from officious
chief waiter an spanish receptionist with an attitude problem, the chief waiter insisted we paid 1euro each for small 125cl glasses of water in the dining room because we were not compris !
grounds were well kept apartments were cleaned everyday but although they were good quality the clientele was decidedly NOT 4
star which is what the accommodation was advertised as.You need a hire car to make it bearable as the animateurs ( overgrown talentless 6th formers )sent loud music booming around the place all day the evenings 'entertainment' did not start till 11.30 and continued till 1.15
with a booming bass reverbrating throughout the complex complaints to reception ( at 1.05) met with little response ( see receptionist ) a place to steer clear of unless you enjoy unruly french kids and self deluded entertainers rampaging through your holiday and power trippers supervising your meals

“Oasis but no Golf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2007

We have recently returned from one week at the Oasis Golf Jandia. As you can see from the other reports we were the only English people in the hotel(not that it bothered us, it made a nice change)the majority were French with a few Germans. Infact the morning we left it took two whole coaches to transport the French to the airport! All of the entertainment was in French only.

The hotel is isolated but runs a free mini bus to the beach ( a bank with ATM and Spar shop are near the bus stop). The first one leaving at 10am and the last one returning at 17.50. They go every 40mins throughout the day apart for an hour over lunch. So if you want to escape in the evening you would need to taxi back which was about 5euros. It is possible to walk across the golf course and through a gate at the bottom and down a dirt track which brings you out near the zoo. It takes about 30 mins.

The supermarket on site is closed so I would not recommend going selfcatering unless you hired a car.

The golf course is very nice, but it is not open yet and nobody seemed to know when it would be opened, although every morning 3 or 4 men would be cutting the greens.

We had a very large one bedroom apartment overlooking the golf course with a long thin verandah with a table and two chairs. Everything was very clean. Sounds echo down the open corridors and the walls could do with some soundproofing as you can hear most of what is going on in the room next door.
Two lovely pools and one kiddies pool, plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas. Shame about the constant wind.

Food was OK considering it was geared to European taste but we always found enough to eat even if was usually the same thing. Very good selection of fresh fruit.

A week was long enough as Jandia was not for us as we are not sunbathers and it is too remote for exploring the rest of the island.

“no Barcelo anymore”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2006

stayed here for 12 days. At check in we were first informed that the hotel was sold and a Globalia Hotel for already three days. Barcelo did not inform us about this. Apartment opposite (not open) golf course and near delivery entrance. Noisy all day and night. (staff washing cars a 3 am !?) Food became worse everyday. The salad from lunch was presented for dinner as well, even the next day it returned. Entertainment just loud music, lots of spanish guests with screaming children. Not even near a four star hotel...horrible!!
