It really was really like "Benidorm" the TV programme!! But it depends on what you want out of a holiday. We were there July/August 2011. We chose it as we were a large extended family & had read favourable reviews. Could not fault our room- pool view on the sea view corner. However, rest of our party weren't so lucky. One couple had to move rooms as after they had unpacked, were told " it is not an all inclusive room, you will have to move" What!! Others had a room for 3 & there was nearly room to move between beds. That said, I could not fault the cleanliness or the food.
The 8.30am "sun bed" stampeed is a joke!! You have to see it to believe it. But, if you can' t beat 'em, join 'em!! Quite amusing to see the "towel stampeed" when it was pouring with rain - Sad!
If you want continuous entertainment on your holiday you will probably enjoy----- Bingo bingo bongo! Shake it up shake it up!!!! The team worked really hard.
All inclusive- " only 2 drinks per person" says Mr Miserable at the pool bar. So when you are 2 adults & child what happens??? We thought perhaps all 10 of us should line up & order 2 drinks each!!!!!! We didn't of course! Just the small things that after a while became annoying.
Bit of an issue that the all inc package ends at noon on day of departure when flights home are late. Credit to the hotel manager who fully appreciated our point on this & sorted a compromise.
Ok, if you are a young couple on your own, this hotel won't be for you. If you're looking for a romantic break- forget it. If you're a young family & like to know where your children are & what they're up to, think again. If your kids are say 8+ & you're happy to let them do there own thing & you enjoy pool games, bingo, quizzes etc, or you are a group of friends who enjoy weekends at the local club --- book the Rey Don Jaime!!
