we are repeat customers here, last time in oct. 11. up to usual good standard but good news, the new owners are refurbishing all the hotel and reopening april 12., making a few more larger family rooms. should be even better.

This is our fifth time to stay at this Hotel, and again we werent dissapointed, my youngest daughter, my wife and myself. The views as you have read many times are amazing. The staff on the desk are most helpful as per usual as are the staff in the dining room.We asked for a room we had stayed in before when we booked our holiday, and were delighted when we arrived, that we had been given this room, a big thank you to the staff for that. and also received a wonderful parcel of fruit and a bottle of red wine for being a return customer, a very nice gesture. maid service every day, towels changed dailyand room cleaned. the food on offer is always good offering a huge choice of cold and hot food, with a differnt meat being carved freshly every night. we always stay half board, giving us the chance to explore oyther restaraunts.we tend to use the pool area at the end of the day,after returning from the beach, which is a pleasant 15 min walk, the beach also is amazing, clean and quiet and choice of beach bars.plenty of sights to visit and excellent bus service. local cafes and bars quiet but abundant, our favorite cafe being the el paso which is located on the square.This is only a shot walk from the hotel, offering a range of shops and bars, before the main shopping area. every evening at the quare, we have seen some very good tribute bands, which are all free to watch, and you neednt get out of your seat, where the barmen come and serve you all night. we have always enjoyed santa ponsa as a resort, quiet, no gangs of youths drunk and causing trouble, a family friendly resort Thanks Mike Davies.

Food:

Pros:
- Variety of food for different cultures e.g. French, German, British e.c.t
- Various choices of food available
- Cooked well (Not over/under cooked)
- Always topped up by chefs, so there’s always food available
- Choice between hot and cold breakfasts
- There were various options for starter, main and dessert.
- Hot carvery every night

Cons:
- Some food such as vegetables are frozen
- Lack of vegetarian options, besides bits of pasta and salad there’s no other options at all, no hot options, and when the pasta dish they serve each night contains meat, there’s nothing apart from salad.
- No vegan options
- Soup is very watery and repetitive.
- There were a lack of labels on the food
- There were only hot dishes available for dessert (Not a good idea for ice-cream)

Bedroom/bathroom:

Pros:
- Beds were made and the bathroom was cleaned every day unless requested not to do so
- Very spacious, also alot of room for clothes in the wardrobe
- The rooms had their own sofas
- There are safes are in the wardrobes if you don’t want to leave items out in the room
- The balcony outside the room had an amazing view of the ocean and was also very spacious
- There were also small cupboards to put other belongings on/in
- Overall the room was very clean

Cons:
- Lack of places to plug in electrical equipment
- Sheets are only made and not replaced, had a hole in one of ours on arrival and it wasn’t changed.
- TV is very small and you have to pay to get all the channels, otherwise there are only about 2 that work.
- No fridge provided, this also costs extra (of 40 Euros, as we were told by reception staff)
- The shower in the bathroom stays upright therefore resulting in not being able to have a shower unless you hold the shower.
- Bath mat wasn't provided so the bath got very slippery

Outdoor pool area:

Pros:
- The pool its self was very clean. There are two main pools outdoors, one more shallow than the other.
- There’s a bar right outside which serves food/drinks, so there’s not a long walk if you plan on staying round the pool all day
- The bar has both indoor and outdoor (in the sun and shade) seating areas, so there’s always somewhere to sit and It’s handy if it gets too hot
- The staff around the pool were very talkative and friendly
- It was fairly easy to get a sun bed
- There’s some steps at the pool area which lead to some rocks besides the ocean, for if you want a quieter place to sit.
- You’re aloud lilos in the pool

Cons:
- It was hard to find parasols, there were very limited number of working ones, alot were broken and the working ones tip over when/if the wind picks up a bit
- The floor gets very slippery, even in shoes I found people slipping/falling over
- Drinks/food is very expensive from the bar and it takes a long time to get served (for food mostly), I found it easier walking to a near by cafe to buy drinks and sandwiches as they were much cheaper and better quality.

Staff:

Pros:
- A lot of the waiters were very friendly and could have a good laugh with you
- The maid was very friendly and ensured the rooms are tidy upon request
- The pool staff were friendly and nice to talk to
- Staff at the reception were very helpful

Cons:
- Some waiters had a bad attitude/ were quite bad-mannered.
- During our stay there was only ever one person on the main bar which made getting served hard and it took a long time to actually get what we ordered.

Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and I would reccommend the hotel, despite some of the minor issues stated above.

We spent a week at this hotel in September and had a fantastic time, First of all the views from all round the hotel are spectacular, it must be in the best position in Santa Ponsa, right on th cliff top. We were on the first floor looking over the bay to the harbour, got up every morning to a different yacht anchored right outside our terrace. We loved our room location, suited us very well. Just along the corridor took us to the bar and the pool. As stated in previous reviews the hotel is in much need of an overhaul but could'nt fault it for cleanliness and lets be honest flaking paint isn't going to put you off your dinner. The food was always good and always a great choice, and the dining room staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. I think it helps if you are nice to them and at least try to thank them in their own language.We had a wee problem about our transfers to the airport and I cannot praise the reception staff enough for the help they gave us, First class service from all the staff we encountered. The hotel is probably about a twenty minute walk down to the beach and main area but it is all uphill on the way back. Five minutes walk from the hotel though takes you to the Square, which is a selection of bars and shops with an open air stage that has different acts on every night. Great atmosphere and very family oriented, didn't need to go any further.An added bonus was the weather the week we were there, absolutely glorious with not a cloud in the sky. We heard that the hotel is to be refurbished and will be All Inclusive. I hope it doesn't loose any of its charm and they manage to keep their staff. We would go back as we had such a good time and met some lovely people.
