Booked this for an extended family with 2 young children, 1 teenager and 4 adults as it was one of the few family sized 2 bed room apartments in Salou. When I first walked in was not impressed as very basic but got used to this as it was good size for all of us and although no luxury had all you needed including air conditioning (though it wasn't very powerful) definately a plus, kitchen facilities including proper oven/grill not a microwave and large fridge freezer and washing machine. Be aware no cleaner so you have to do it yourself and take out all the rubbish so bring some basic cleaning materials, soap etc with you (they do provide towels which are changed in the middle of your stay) but no change of bedlinen. Pool area not very nice although we did go down once. Apt approx 10 min walk from the beach which again we only went to once as it was so crowded you just couldn't get any space and we were sitting on top of the water- this was warm and great for swimming and for young children as shallow and calm. Downsides of apt was no reception so you had to walk round the corner to another apt block to pick up your keys- this was unclear both on my booking form and confirmation and we only discovered where to go by asking another family at the pool- would have been disastorous if we had arrived in late at night!!! You had to pay 100 euro damage deposit for apt which we got back after they inspected apt on last day. We had a hire car and there was parking garage under the apt but this cost us 10 euro per day and another deposit for key. Difficult to get in and out of garage but the only place to aprk as streets so busy. Had to check out by 10am on day of dept which not so good as no left luggage facilities etc. We went 2 days to Port Aventura and 1 day to Caribbe Water Park and I definately recommend both as they are the only nice parts of Salou- again very busy but less so than the beaches etc. We also did 2 days in Barcelona. If you want luxury do not stay here but it is very good value for money we only paid £336 for the apt for a week for 6 people (plus baby) so worth the money. I would not go back to Salou though as I am unused to this type of low class holiday resort which has no character of Spain and is only geared towards English/Irish tourists but great for young kids and teenagers as lots to do.
