we have just returned from salou were we were supposed to be staying at the Cala Dorada apartments 4-6 vendrells in salou .
We have a feeling something was not right when we went to board a transfer coach from reus airport and the driver said he had never heard of it . He said that he knew were the street vendrells was located and would drop us there so with no other alternative we went .He dropped us on a road with a steep incline with maybe 3 shops and a couple of pubs but no Cala Dorada apartment. We walked up and down this hill asking shopkeepers if they had ever heard of it but to no avail.Eventually at near enough the top of the hill I found a resedential complex called the Cala Dorada which was a private complex and had no reception and no one to contact. We waited at the door until a resident was coming out and tried to communicate but she didnt understand what was going on. I noticed a guy cleaning up some papers and decided to ask him he couldnt speak a word of english and my spanish is not up to much but did seem to be interested in the accommodition voucher. He beckoned me to follow him .We walked back down the hill leaving the other 4 of my party at the top and he took me into a completely different apartment block were to my amzement the lady at reception said yes this is it . I asked here if it was the cala dorada and she said yes but directly over her head was a sign for the catalonia gardens apartments. I was getting nowhere with my line of enquiry so I went with some relief to collect the others and put there mind at ease we all trundled into reception collected our key and proceeded to our room were on arrival was not cleaned from the previous occupants .there was blood on the settee no beds made and vomit in the wash hand basin I reported to reception and the lady apologised and sent a cleaner who made the beds cleaned the floor but could not clean the settee she said i would have to go to reception which i did but she didnt seem to agree with my worry about someone elses blood .After a long discussion the cleaning lady produced an cover for the settee with holes in but at least no blood anyway that about it except to say when booking it said all rooms have tv but i was told if i wanted a tv i would have to pay €140.00 along with the €60.00 breakage deposit all in all a fairly bad start to a long awaited break
