Local residents live in these appartments! We had complaints about noise - when we were only talking in our room!!! The rules say after 10pm be quiet (fair enough) but 7-8pm and getting complaints about talking on the balcony!

One of the neighbors knockced on our door, told us to leave tonight or we were going to die! Actually threatend us! - A little bit intimidating considering we dont speak Spainish, and now felt we couldnt go anywhere alone - and this was only day 2!

Salou's nightlife is pretty boring - 2 main bars not a lot else. Definatley go somewhere like Cabo Riog where the Bushwacka etc are much better chilled clubbin holiday alternatives to the Bright lights, booze and pills of your Ibiza's etc. (Been there done them!)

Overall not a bad resort - but nightlife is over rated - and don't go to the Port Aventura water park its very poor. The theme park is insane - absolutely fantastic thats a must!!

No air-con in 30+ degrees - biggest mistake ever!!!

Anyway you've got my advice - upto you whether you ignore it!

Stayed here for a week in august. The apartments are in a good location and reasonably clean. Although they say that they are self catering they only have a hob and a microwave so you can't rely on cooking too much in the apartment.

When we arrived we had to go to the office about 10 minutes away to pick up the keys and pay €100 deposit. This is a bit inconvenient, but knew to expect it after reading other reviews. We were only given one set of keys between five of us which is also an inconvenience as you need a key to get into the main apartment and to get through to the pool. This meant we could not separate as we would be locked out.

There are security guards on at night who are very strict about the amount of noise you make. They don't let you play music after 12 and tell you to keep your voices down if your on your balcony at night. they even knocked on our door one night to complain about the noise when we were sleeping!

There is a choice of 3 pools which are all nice and clean and never too busy. However there are some petty rules enforced by the lifeguards such as no sunglasses on in the pool. There are also no sun loungers meaning you either have to lie on your towel or invest in a chair.

Overall the location was great, apartment was basic but clean but there are a few issues that could be rectified to make your time there easier and more hassle free.

Stayed for 5 days. Collecting key and dropping off at office 10 mins away could be a problem if you had to drag baggage(we left ours at previous hotel). Office staff friendly and helpful though and alowed us to collect our 100euro deposit early as we had early flight (this 100euro deposit seems a farce to us?).
Apartments are BASIC but reasonably clean, ours had NO AIRCON (this surprised us), but all crockery etc was provided. Light switch loose in bedroom and showerhead seen better days but overall we were satisfied. Settee makes a double and a single bed , nice convenient touch.
Pool is a good size , but there are NO SUNBEDS . Some silly petty rules about no balls etc stopped our children even being able to play catch with a small ball. This typifies Spain in general though, were rules seem to be made and applied only when it suits them to apply. The country is riddled with double standards in my opinion, but when you learn to accept this, its a great place for a holiday
