Well my family stayed in a privately owned apartment in the hotel so we personally didn't have to deal with the problems that the lack of a reception and hard to find entrance caused because the owner of the apartment drove us to and from the hotel. But the place is far from great.
I wouldn't recommend staying there with young children because the railings on the balconies are far from stable (and not just our apartment none look safe for kids), the lifts are terrifying, they do not consistently work and the whole family spent the many times in the lift (We were on the 6th floor so we kind of had too since there was puke on the stairs) worrying it would break down. The reception was not open once while we were there for the week, and the noise is terrible, the majority of rooms are over a very popular bar in salou and the noise just never stops also many of the other guests are very noisy, in our week the guests in the apartment opposite decided it would be fun to hit saucepans with wooden spoons till 6am. And according to people who live their permanently that kind of thing happens a lot.
