“great family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

We are a family of 5,we have 3 daughters 3 /7/11 and booked a 2 bedroom apartment

quick run down

Daily maid service plentiful supply of towels 2 large bedroms nice size lounge with comfy furniture small kitchen with microwave cooker toaster fridge freezer large balcony supermarket just round the corner beach shops restaurants etc within 5 mins walk Lovely pool very quiet ideal for families

we had plenty of space and our apartment no was 201 we were above the bar area at the front .We had the balcony that overlooked the street which could get a little noisy at times but it was interesting to watch the world go by and i loved it,you could people watch all day and at night!

We stayed at the best michaelanglo for 2 weeks from the 19 Th July to the 2 Nd of august
and found it very nice and comfortable, the bedding and towels was changed everyday(if you wanted) and the rooms cleaned everyday. You can use any card you like in the aircon slot, not just the one that is attached to the room key!

The Best Residencial Michelangelo was everything I hoped for and more. The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful.

On arrival we had to pay 60 euros that you get back when you get when you check out as long as you haven''t broken anything or lost a key. then another 45 euro's for the safe (if you want a safe which we took for safe reasons), you get 5 euro's back when leaving .

The kids and i loved the pool but i have to admit the water was a bit nippy 1 St time you get in till you heat up.the sun doesn't really reach the pool water till the afternoon,
There was No music or entertainment round pool also you couldn't use inflatables in the pool
The pool area could do with a bit of 'TLC'. Some of the slabs around the pool were wobbly but on the whole it was very clean and pleasant.Inflatables weren't allowed in the pool but my kids played with a ball and some other water toys and that was ok.
They also enjoyed the pool tables which cost 1 euro a time,

However do not try and walk on the bridge or the life guard will give you a a telling off !

The location of the apartments are ideal Salou is a lovely place, sandy beaches, nice promenade,
The Michelangelo is excellently situated, just 5 minutes from the beach, shops, restaurants and bars and with a supermarket next door to cater for all your needs it's,close to bars, restaurants and the amazing beach and palm tree lined promenade.
It was also just a 30 minute walk from Port Aventura theme park.
every evening there is a free fountain laser show(which is a must see,it's out of this world)
nice shops varying from posh to not so posh,we did enjoy ourselves

we found a little cosy bar the rose and crown which was right below the hotel
Andy and i and our lovely 3 daughters where made welcome any time of day/night at
this is a little bar just one street away from the prom/beach owned and ran by albert and his wife anne-marie.
daytime there is sports/football on and it has outside seating for those who like to smoke as new laws bars it inside as of jan 2011(well old law enforced now).
night time entertainment starts about 9 with a free quiz, bingo (anne maries patter makes it very good) and to finish a shout out quiz for free shots.
there is snacks during the day/night ie pizza/hot dogs etc ice cream sweets etc and good music.
It is the one bar we had to go back to time and time again as a warm welcome and stay is had by all.
Just an absolute joy to drink at this bar wonderful owners and locals who you could chat to all night. The bar is open till late.
Anne Marie and Albert will make you more than welcome and I'm pretty sure that after one night you will certainly go back.

Green Banana offers exclusive discounts of up to 20% in the best bars, shops, clubs, restaurants and entertainment venues. Beat the Credit Crunch and make your holiday money go so much further! fantastic discounts for you at the most popular ,
Salou With over 400 venues to choose from there really is something for everyone including fantastic savings on Duty Free Goods from Perfume to Designer Clothes.

we had a great family holiday,

“Nice Quiet Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

Stayed here at the beginning of October for a week. The rooms were very spacious and the balcony was huge. The hotel is very central to main nightlife and the shops. The rooms were well equipt for self catering if you wanted to cook. Also large Supermarket next door. We ate out for all our meals. The most amazing food was Sam's American Diner (just up the road from Burger King) the potions were unbelievable and good prices. Most of the good entertainment was in the Irish Bars. I would reccomend Dannt Boys, a really good atmosphere. If you go to Port Adventura buy a Pass here at a Travel Agents (the price for a two day pass was double if bought on the gate their) Plenty to do and see, we spent the first day on rides and the second watching the shows (myself and two teenagers) it was worth every penny.

Room Tip: A corner room, these have massive balconies

“Good value, ideal location, would recommend.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We stayed for one week at the Michelangelo and although the rooms are a ' little worn around the edges' the daily maid service was good, clean towels as needed and beds changed. The room facilities were good, large fridge/freezer, hob and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and plenty of cutlery and crockery. Limited tv channels mostly news for english speaking guests, but there was a music channel. Reception open 24hrs and security was very good. As we were self catering we did not use the restaurant for meals so can't comment on the food. The swimming pool was rarely crowded, in fact most of the time it was only the life guard sitting there, it was cleaned every day, but at this time of year the sun is not over the pool area for long as the buildings shield the sun. As our room was pool side of the building there was no noise during the night, road side rooms, whilst they would have more sun on the balconies may experience traffic noise. All the balconies are large with a table and chairs. The location is excellent only one street back from the promenade and beach and the area around is flat making it easy to get around if you are travelling with young children or older people who find hills a problem. There is a supermarket around the corner and many good bars and restaurants. We found the California Grill very good value for money, the menu of the day especially good with a good selection of meals and it includes a drink. I would recommend this property and would use it again if I return to Salou.
