Very clean, large rooms with excellent views from the balconies although in the height of the season, disabled rooms are used for able bodied guests which is sometimes inappropriate. The hotel itself was situated within a 5 minute walk to the beach, which was small, but really quiet and clean. The pool was very clean, and there were sun loungers provided and also occasionaly entertainment for children. The food in the hotel was always well presented and cooked properly, however, there was a LOT of seafood on the menu and not a wide variety of meat for evening meals. Entertainment in the evenings was generally poor, but there was some good entertainment such as flamenco dancing. We were a little bit disappointed that the hotel was advertised as having a sauna when it was in fact situated in the Negresco Princess hotel across from the Punta Dorada Princess, but if you are staying at the Punta Dorada Princess, you are free to use the facilities including the sauna and the gym at the Negresco Princess hotel and you are also permitted to watch the entertainment there too. Overall, a nice hotel with quiet surroundings and excellent public transport nearby.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 weeks and really enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is very clean and well presented and our rooms were great ( although family rooms don't get a great view of the pool or sea like the other rooms).
We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children and the small pool was ideal as we could keep an eye on our children easily from our sun loungers!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and communication wasn't much of a problem. The food was ok most days although garlic was plentiful, they did have a good choice of dishes to choose from to cater for visitors from all countries. Breakfast was good although i have to agree with another review about hit and miss boiled eggs!! The head waiter/restaurant supervisor is wonderful, very friendly and speaks good english.
I would say that entertainment wasn't great, especially for kids, and although the sister hotel does offer more entertainment , it doesn't start till late.
But all said and done it was a lovely hotel and we had a great time, it's close to Salou and Portaventura and the bus stop is close by. The beach is beautiful and clean, what more could you want? Would definitely return.

Went to Punta Dorada in May, four of us, we realy enjoyed it, food was excellent, staff friendly, realy clean hotel, enjoyed it so much we are returning next May with a few more friends

We have just returned from Cap Salou and stayed at the Punta Dorada Princess. First impressions were good.

The reception area was very spacious and the receptionists were very helpful.

The room was above average in size as was the bathroom. The decor in the room..............well, it is something you get used to! The maid came in daily and changed the towels etc.

The balcony overlooked the pool which was a bit on the small side, but big enough for the size of the hotel. A lifeguard was on duty all of the time. The area surrounding the pool was well tended and had a seated area for drinks/ snacks.

The restaurant was large, but did not cater for the British taste very well. Breakfast was nothing to write home about. The boiled eggs were a bit of a lottery; if you choose a 5 minute one, don't expect it to be cooked........the white runs out when cut open! No vegetables to speak of at dinner, and if you didn't like fish you were a bit limited in your choice. Sweets were a bit repetitive.

Entertainment was alright, flameco dancers etc., but didn't start until around 10.30pm.

Bar staff were really nice, but did not speak English too well. We did however manage to make oursleves understood!

All in all we did have a nice time at the Puntad Dorada Princess, but would probably not return.
