Best in there is food , good quality and various. Close to beach. Nice swimming pool.
Staff restaurant as all Shpanis poeple not polite, but we started to get used to.

The reason for my registering such a low score and for writing this poor review is solely due to the complete lack of service I encountered not only at the hotel,but also from Hotels4u.com who are supposedly investigating my complaint.
Salou is a lovely place,the hotel itself though far from a 4* is fine,well located and in many respects very good.
My main and only gripe was the management team itself and their total inability to deal with my problems and complaints in the correct manner.
We paid extra for a Junior suite,again the room was realy good,but due to on going problems with noise(upstairs neighbours,street noise etc etc)we were forced to move to an inferior double room which was located on the roof next to the machinery for the whole hotel.This would not actually had been a problem,but the air conditioning was faulty which meant we had to have the balcony door open all night and the noise from the machinery did not allow us any sleep at all.
As with the noise issue which I reported many times(no action taken)the air-con remained faulty all week,the room telephone never worked and when we moved rooms no help was given or apology forthcoming.(a free spa day was promised ,but never materialised).
We had 3 nights of very little sleep and I spent most of the holiday in the reception complaining about the same problems.The manager(who couldnt speak ANY english)avoided me like the plague(did not turn up for several arranged meetings),until one day I camped out in the lobby until he had to see me.He had to have an interpreter present and i am sure did not understand half of what she told him.The night shift manager also could not speak any english and twice I came to see him about the noise and he just said "reception closed,come back in morning".The assistant manageress although friendly did little to help and I am still waiting for her to contact hotels4u regarding my compensation claim.(though she did say she had e-mailed them twice?).
All in all the whole holiday was spoilt by poor service,incompetent mangement and now the on going lack of interest(e-mailed 6 times,3 phone calls-no response)from hotels 4u.com.

We originally booked the playa margarita hotel which is one of the sister hotels but we were upgraded to salou park and happy about the move. The location was ideal for us, 2mins to the beach and a 5 min walk to the center of salou. The pool was very good we always got 2 sunbeds no matter what time we went down and the smaller beach infront was actually better than the main beach as it was less packed with the same facilities. I booked the hotel half board but would not do this again as the food was standard/bland and the same every evening so in the two weeks only had 3 evening dinners here. B&B would be fine but again same food every morning and no variety and we ate out a few mornings too to mix it up. There is a bus stop outside the front which all the tram buses stop aswell as the main bus and from Port Aventura you will get dropped here. One excellent thing about the hotel was the maid service, our room was cleaned everyday with new towels and beds made, floors washed etc. great service here but waiting staff in the bar was average. Two waiters in the evening to cover all guests at entertainment I waited 20 minutes to be served but ended up going bar every time after that which I had no problem doing and bar closed exactly at 12. Reception was ok not very good english. This hotel seems to cater more for the eastern european and russian market as I think we were the only Irish people staying. The beds were also very hard and lumpy, we used the extra winter blankets in the wardrobe as a base under the sheets which helped. Overall the hotel suited our needs but had same standard as a 3 star hotel for the 4 star price.

Perfectly located for the beach, shops & nightlife if you want it. It's a lovely walk round to Cap Salou and also ideally located for the cafes and bars along the promenade. There was a good selection of food in the hotel, which was high quality and always hot. Their meats, particularly beef, pork, turkey & gammon ham were superb. Most of the staff were extremely obliging, except for 1 chap on reception who didn't want to help us resolve a problem with our transfer back, but he was the exception. The drinks in the bar were actually cheaper than in the resort, which is unusual, and you always had a branded drink as opposed to the local cheaper versions.
I would however, advise to pay extra for a balcony room. We had a room at the back without and 3 different bin collections late each night did keep us awake, if we'd stayed in a room on the front we wouldn't have had this disturbance.
I would definitely go back though.
