“Very Average”

I have just come back from here this morning early hours. I went with my boyfriend for 9 nights.
The staff were as friendly as Spanish staff go, most of the time quite moody and not as helpful as you'd like.
The rooms were absolutely fine, cleaned nicely daily.. just very average.
The food was lovely, we were half board, breakfast and dinner were lovely everyday and plenty to choose from. There was show cooking at every mealtime, for breakfast they'd cook pancakes and waffles in front of you and you could choose from a wide variety of toppings. And dinner times they'd cook the meat in front of you how you like it eg steaks, hamburgers, hot dogs, fish etc..
The pool and bar were average size, very clean and well kept.
For August, the hotel was really quite quiet, Spanish guests took up at least 80% of the people in the hotel at the time. There were two other British families we knew of. The entertainment was really bad.. Karaoke on Mondays was all Spanish songs, 3 days of the week they'd just do the mini disco and then just have music on and no other entertainment. A couple of nights they had dancers which was good but nothing new if you've been to hotels in Spain before. We had no problems with the hotel at all, we had an amazing holiday overall, was just very average. Drinks in pool bar are cheap 2.60 euros for a beer 2 euros for sangria. Entertainment during the day was non existent. There was a schedule shown which had activities like cocktail games at a certain time and aqua gym and water polo. These were supposed to be everyday but we only saw water polo once and aqua gym once and none of the other activities which were supposed to be on. Portaventura, Aquapolis and the Barcelona excursions were fantastic. Highly recommended:)

“excellent hotel :)”

My boyfriend and I were in salou for a weeks holiday in may . We are both 19 years old and were a bit apprehensive as it was our first time away without "adults". We arrived at the hotel at around 2am local time and were checked in within minutes. The receptionist was nice but did not speak much English. Our room was very clean and we even had a balcony which was also spotless. We had booked half bored so breakfast and dinner were included. Breakfast was nice as you could get fresh crepes and bread rolls and there was also cereals and fruit to choose from. Dinner wasn't great very oily and fishy but its very cheap to eat in the restaurants beside the hotel which all had excellent food. We went to a pub beside the hotel every night called the victoria this was very good and opened untill 5 in the morning and had all English speaking staff. I read reviews on here before I left that said it was a 20 minute walk to the main street, I have no idea how it took those people that long to get to it as it is literally around the corner. Also some people said it was noisy and I found it nice and peaceful at night time. The only disruption at night is the bin lorry which does come around at about 3 and it is a bit noisy but it is only there for literally 1 minute. Also there is a bus stop around the corner which is handy for getting to port adventura on and it only cost 1.60 buses leave every 40 minutes. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel as it is so close to everything but also tucked away nicely from the noise.

Room Tip: All the rooms are very nice.

“not in april”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2011

hotel was clean ,food was good if not quite brilliant, staff were very helpful, unfortunatly we were dunped in this hotel as ours was overbooked (villamarina) althougth there was nothing wrong with the hotel at this time of year it is full of spanish old age pensioners, with nothing at all for the english but we were the only ones there, entertainment wise it comprised of ball room dancing and the guests doing a spanish sing along kids could not do any ball games round pool or no inflatables because of complaints, althougth we were the only ones who used the pool except when they came out for a ciggie which was also not allowed but our complaints went on deaf ears also no pool bar open at this time of year. So all in all a poor all inclusive deal where we spent about 400 euros going out for some entertainment

Room Tip: dont go untill main season

“Get what you pay for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

Was very reasonably priced. Food was what you would expect from a Spanish Buffet hotel, plenty of choice although left overs from dinner made the breakfast bar (fish fingers :-) ) only one tray of that and plenty of other choices. Cant expect any more really from the price we paid, was toast, juices, coffee, hot food, cold meat, fruits etc. Not a huge choice at dinner but again, you get what you pay for.

The location was great for us, not too noisy but easily close enough to walk to Salou front and back, stopping for coffee on the way back in a great bar over the road from Oasis Park.

If you are looking for a base, with a clean room, OK food and near enough to the beach and transport links to have a great holiday, would definately recommend it.

Also my mum left her bag by mistake in restaurant and within 5 mins, the intact bag was handed to us as the restaurant manager has walked around the hotel to find us, very pleased.

“did what it was needed for!”

this hotel was fine for a place to stay..very close to everything..cleaned every day and staff were nice but didnt have much english. We went half board so were little worried about food but it was fine. Breakfast was a bit 'oily' and easy to get fed up of it but dinners were great...loads of different food and loads of desserts...they will also do picnic bags for you to take on day trips if you give them notice...we used this a few times and it was great. The entertainment was a laugh, the fella in charge of it was great fun, my kids(teenagers) had a ball doing the different games every day....darts, shooting, water polo etc.
My only negative thing is we were staying at the front of the hotel and it got very noisy every night for hours....nightclub down the road.
