“Great time at Jaime 1 Hotel”

We stayed in the Hotel Jaime last week, Its a 3* hotel and maybe the decor is not as fancy as a 4* but it was lovely and clean with friendly, helpful staff. We had breakfast included and there was a great selection of food - especially nice were the pancakes with fresh cream and jam for breakfast (well, we were on holiday after all!). There was entertainment each evening and also during the day for children. There is a lovely pooolside bar.

The room was cleaned each day with fresh sheets and towels provided. It overlooked the pool area so we had a birds eye view of this large area.

The location is so central - about a 2 minute walk to the beach and main shopping areas.
The weather was lovely 27 degrees and 8 hours of sunshine - not bad for the end of September.

The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the airport and cost €30 each way in a taxi.

The only thing missing is a fridge in the room!

Room Tip: Higher floors on the pool side get more of the sun in the evening.

“Good time, friendly staff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

On arrival, our large group of 17 were checked in quickly, no fuss. We also got the rooms in the main building that we asked for when booking.

This is my 5th time staying here and I can say that its very good value for money. The bar and reception are staffed by the same people since my first stay here. They are very friendly and helpful. I found that if you are respectful to them, they will be very courteous to you. I was there from 25/9/11 to 1/10/11. €20 per night half board, excellent value!

There is a great selection of food and enough choice to suit everyone. You would need to be very fussy not be satisfied.

The rooms are clean and are cleaned every day. House keeping very helpful if you needed anything extra like pillows and towels there was no problem. The only two negative things about the rooms are 1, the lighting is very dim, this has been the same since we first stayed. All it would take is higher wattage light bulbs, and this would make such a difference to the room. 2, In this day and age of satelitte television, why are channels like BBC1 and ITV not available? The only English speaking channels are 24hour news. There are channels catering for other European travellers. Now I know we are on holidays, but people may not want to venture out every evening and may wish to relax in the room.

I dont want this to be reviewed as a blot on the hotel, as I will be visiting this hotel in the future, and would recommend this to anybody.

Room Tip: all rooms starting from 40 - 70, 140 - 170 etc in the main building are ideal if you want to be away...

“A very relaxing break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We booked the hotel, mainly because of it’s location. We booked AI as we have found hotel prices for drinks, especially non alcoholic ones to be expensive. At the time of booking, we requested a late check-in, late check-out and a high floor. We arrived at 11pm and were allocated a room on the 4th floor. As we had missed the evening meal, we were each given a picnic box of sandwiches, water and fruit.

Our room was clean and warm, not a great view from the balcony but better than some that we have had.

We were allocated meal times and although we felt they were quite restrictive, we soon realised that with the number of guests staying, the system worked well. There were also three large dining areas so seating was never a problem. The food itself was plentiful and there were always freshly grilled options available, as well as plenty of salad and boiled vegetables. We ate out a couple of times but that was through choice and not because there was nothing to eat in the hotel.

The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, polite and helpful. We asked to keep our room on as we had a late flight and it wasn’t a problem and probably the best 20 euros we spent on our entire holiday. It meant our luggage was safe, we could dress for the weather and shower and pack half an hour before our pick up time. Even after checking out, our transfer failed to arrive, I went back to reception and asked if they could call a local taxi which they did, at no cost.

The hotel amenities were good, crazy golf, Indoor Pool and Jaccuzi, Gymnasium and hairdressers. The activities for adults and children were regular and well run and the entertainment varied enough to be pleasurable.

The hotel is well placed for the park, supermarket, bus stops and beach.

“Don't hate...Appreciate!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

I booked this hotel merely for its price and proximity to all the local attractions. On reading the reviews, I was quite apprehensive to say the least but please take note; this hotel is FANTASTIC and anyone who says different are 1 expecting 5 star quality at 3 star prices or 2. people who are only happy when they are complaining.

On check in, we were met by Pedro - very friendly and efficient. As we arrived late in the night and missed our scheduled dinner, it was a pleasant surprise to have sandwiches, fruit and bottled water given to us to take to our room. Information pamphlet was also provided.

The room was excellent; high floor (as requested) 1 double bed (as requested), 2 single beds with a work station, wardrobe, television, separate bathroom and balcony - very spacious and comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean and was maintained throughout our stay by the very courteous housekeeping staff.

Breakfast and dinner was lovely; anyone who says there is only chips to eat is providing false information. Breakfast consisted of fresh breads, rolls, toast, bacon, sausages, fried/boiled eggs, beans, cereals, pastries etc and dinner was salad, fish, pork, chicken, pasta, pizza, potatoes, vegetables plus an array of desserts. What more can one ask for?!

One slight negative is that the lifts are extremely small and slow for such a large hotel, but that is all.

Overall I think this hotel is superb for a holiday in the sun, the staff are friendly and inviting, the food is lovely, and the atmosphere is great - I would return and recommend to others.

Jamie 1 is receiving some unfair criticism and in my eyes should be applauded not ridiculed.

TOP NOTCH!

Room Tip: Request a double bed (you will not get two singles pushed together then)

“spanish invastion!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Good points about this hotel, really clean, great pools, close range to local beaches/pubs, bad points rubbish entertainment, geared up purely for the spanish guests!!!, rude staff on main bar, didnt seem to like the all inclusive customers, misleading activites i.e on some sites it says there are several bars and a nightclub, there is 2 bars and the poolbar hasnt been open for at least 3 years, average food. Beware that if u dont go all inclusive its very expensive approx 3 pounds for a can of coke!!! This is a good hotel to use as a base and yes it was a cheap holiday 320 for a weeks all inclusive is good but dont expect to much.
