Me and my family stayed at the Hotel Playa Margarita in August for two weeks, having saved our hard-earned cash all year to do so. I have stayed at many hotels on holidays in the past, both in the UK and abroad, but I can't ever recall being treated so rudely and appallingly as we were at this hotel. By that, I mean the dining room staff who were employed here. Throughout the two weeks, they were rude, surly and you could not get a smile out of one of them. They snatched the plate from my 11-year-old nephew before he had finished peeling an Orange. If you didn't have a drink straight away, it was tough luck, as your glasses were snatched away from you at the beginning of the meal. The quality of the food wasn't very good either. On a morning, you couldn't get a satisfactory cup of tea and on many occasions, we went to a restaurant across the road to get a good cup of tea and English breakfast. If you went down at 7pm, when the evening meal started, then it could be warm, but it would be cold if you went half an hour or more later. The swimming pool area didn't have as many sunbeds as it should have, and nearly all of them were broken! On the plus side, the reception staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant, as was Christina, the woman who organised the evening entertainment. The rooms were clean and tidy. I have no gripe with that. The maids did a totally thorough job in cleaning them. The location is central to various facilities, including bus stops, the beach, shops etc, but I wouldn't recommend or advise anybody to stay at this hotel. Look elsewhere instead. Disgruntled of Yorkshire!
