We spent a great romantic week in this hotel! The room, number 302, was very clean and good equipped with amazing sea view! Thanks a lot to friendly girls on the reception and to waiters for nice service in the restoraunt.

I complained the following day and the representative from Thompson said that they were doing their best.
I was given the same answer 10 days later at the end of the holiday.

1.The fire alarm went off at 2am and it could not be heard clearly from within the room.
2.The emergency fire exit was locked and we were unable to exit.
3.The fire doors did not close on the first floor so would not have protected us from smoke or fire.
4.All the fire drill insructions are not readable on any floor due to poor lighting.
5.All the light bulbs were removed on every floor that would have illuminated these instructions.
6.When we all assembled in the reception area we were told to return to our rooms with the alarms still sounding.

I was appalled with the responce of Reps and management.

10 days later I was still told by the management that they were still holding meetings and they were doing their best.

This is not acceptable fed up of chasing this but will defnately not stay in this hotel again.
Even though I had a wonderful time the health and safety is not top of the priority list.

If you are not concerned about health and safety this hotel is brilliant.

a very nice place to spend a holiday the choice of food great the restaurant staff very good the bar staff once they got to know you were very good.thats as far as it goes,we were given room 1001--awful--it is right over a flat roof over looking large rubbish bins-bottle store-staff car park.room not secure i could open the balcony door when it was locked from the outside,we would put the room table against the door at night to make us feel secure,the rep did her best to get us moved but no luck,so if you get given 1001 or near it stand you ground ,say no to this and rooms (say) upto 1008.

October 2011. My husband and I have been staying at his hotel for over 10 years now. It used be a 4star. It is still a lovely hotel with spotless rooms most of which have beautiful views over the sea.

Negresco is sitting on the rocks at the end of the Platja Llarga beach about 20 minutes out of
Salou. The location alone is part of the attraction and the beach is pristine and beautiful.
We stayed on a half board basis in a room on the fifth floors with views out over salou, down to
the south and over the pine woods of Platja Llarga. The food in the hotel was excellent with choices for everyone. If you want " home on holidays", you can even get the revolting chips and beans laid on. The staff as usual were outstanding and very helpful.

There is no traffic as this is a pedestrianised zone with walks and a boardwalk into Salou. Bus stop at the top of the road to get to Tarragona, Reus, Barcelona or Salou.

The only downside, and it didn't bother us too much, was the entertainment. Dire.

This is a lovley hotel and we would recomment to holidaymakers who want to see Costa Dorada.
