Arrived 19th Oct 2011 at 10am and on checking with reception as to time we could check in which we were informed it was 1pm but our room was ready so could check in early which was great as we were only there for 5 days as hotel closes down for winter on the 23rd.reception staff very helpful with english speaking.
We had a superior room which was clean,tidy and comftable.cleaning staff really friendly although do visit quiet early but there is a door hanger sign for do not disturb if needed.
The resturant was ok,clean and adequet although very little choice for an english palette which would make a big difference personally to us as we would be happy to return next year when we come to Salou for the rally.
I found it very helpful to be able to puchase wifi access in our room as I own a business and needed to access bookings and emails when on holiday and was great for evening we stayed in due to aweful rain storms.
We made use of the coffee shop which we visited most days to sit in the sunshine,have a coffee and watch the world go by due to hotels excellent location.
Back in Salou next year for the Rally and would return to the Blaumar.
The only thing that spoilt the holiday was the lack of facilities at Reus airport,would look into flying into Barcelona next year.

Just back from a week in the Blaumar Hotel. The room was very spacious, a large comfortable sitting (convertable to two single beds) and dining area, a full bathroom, and bedroom with two single bed. Adequate cooking facilities and fridge, ample space for two adults and two kids.
The room was spotless and cleaned each day, although early in the morning. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed half board and were very satisfied with all meals with a very good choice of food very well presented and of a good standard.
The pool area was of a very high standard, clean dry and well maintained, with a shaded decked sun terrace.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and hope to return in the future.

Recently returned from a five day stay at the Blaumar hotel. After reading some reviews about the hotel staff being unhelpful/rude, I was quite apprehensive about our stay. However, many staff in the hotel spoke English, we were greeted with a friendly welcome from a receptionist by the name of Monica who spoke excellent English and continued to be friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Not booking a package holiday, we relied on the plana bus to get us back and forth the airport, however the staff of the bus spoke very little english. Monica took our flight details and ensured that a reservation was made for us to travel back to Reus airport. She made our stay so easy and advised us how to get around, trips to go on and places to go.She also pointed out that the spa facilites were free of charge, which we obviously took advantage of.
As for the hotel food, it was extremely repetitive and unless you like fish/seafood you will find it hard to please your appetite. Even on the salad bar, everything had been mixed with fish - ie, potato salad has tuna in, mixed leaf salad had prawns in ... and being a non-fish lover, i found my plate to consist of chips and a bread roll. However, on the plus side, the deserts are REALLY good, with a really wide variety for different taste buds.
The general location of the hotel is fab, situated a couple of metres from the beach and alongside the strip of bars, restaurants and shops.
Lastly the pool area was was extremely nice- looked very luxurious and the entertainment in the night is fantastic! Overall, a very pleasant stay for our money.

We've spent a whole week in Salou, staying at Blaumar Hotel - halfboard, double superior room.

First of all, the hotel is not suited for English speaking tourists. We had a hard time interacting with staff members. Had we been Russians, we wouldn't have had any problem.

Our double superior room was disappointing. It had poor TV reception and no card access. The door lock was so massive, that we had to slam the door everytime to shut it... But the major dissapointment was the room safe - not included in the room rate (5 EUR/day).

Otherwise, nice pool, great location (just across the street from the beach and very close to all the action in Salou) and good food - very monotonous breakfasts (same foor for 7 straight days) but extremely rich dinners.
