stayed in november,its in a good place near the park, not far from bonanza squre,front just down the road, if you come out of the hotel turn left,go to the end of the road, then turn left again, go to the top of the road then you are at the park, turn right then go to the end, then turn left, then go up to the traffic lights turn right,go up the hill then you are at bonanza square, the hotel rooms were small, no balconies, just juliet balconies, the rooms sheets and,pillows were not changed in the 5 nights we stayed there,also the maid never made the bed while we stayed there, there is 6 coat hangers in the room, under the bed the dust was very thick, the towells were very gray, and looked very murkey,when the maid brought the towells,and toilet roll in it was just put on the bed, if you went in the winter there is no heating in the room, if you come out of the hotel turn right go down the hill ,at the bottom to the right, there is an alley, go down it, and there is an indian called harrys bar. the food is spot on and reasonablely piced,

booked this hotel through hotelconnect.co.uk, who went into liqiudation , still took our money, so of course no room booked when we got there, receptionist very helpful and rented us one of there"very good " rooms to make up for our inconvenience, which turned out to be very small, but did have sea views. overall very clean and after all we were only sleeping for a few nights, so was fine. ate breakfast out after reading reviews tho. benalmadena itself looking very drab and in need of a makeover, and whats with all the english food! can get more interesting menus hee.

I had stayed at Hotel Betania once before, i chose it at that time as it was available and cheap, the stay was best described as "ok" and i worked on the basis that i got what i paid for. When searching for accommodation for a last minute 3 night stay recently Hotel Betania was one of the few Hotels available, i booked it and now regret it. The rooms are tiny, enough space for a Double bed and space to walk around it, i failed to get one good nights sleep during my stay, the Doors to the rooms have to be slammed in order to close them and this was happening as people came home during the night, there are no carpets and the noise of high heels tapping and echoing during the night is etched in my memory, it was just generally very noisy at night ('im talking 1-4 am) and if you manage to get a good nights sleep during your stay here i suggest you'll need to get your ears checked out as the chances are you're completely deaf. Breakfast consisted of hot dog type sausages, fried eggs and bread which took an eternity to toast. This never varied during my stay. WARNING. We asked for a late checkout but were abruptly told that this was not possible, we then asked if we could use the pool whilst we waited and again received an abrupt "no". We had been polite and courteous throughout our stay so it's not as if they had reason to dislike us anyway, there was one girl on reception who we found polite, friendly and helpful, i suspect the others had been dragged in from the street with no training in customer service whatsoever. To summarise.......pay the extra and go elsewhere !!!

Positives:- nice hotel and very clean, great location close to the beach, park, Tivoli and shops; nice (small) pool with south-facing sun terrace
Negatives:- a very small room with a balcony (Paris-style ie. not really a balcony at all), no kettle in the room, and an odd smell in the bathroom that did not appear to come from anywhere in particular but that was definitely there, and the breakfast was terrible
