“Good location and all you really need”

Interesting small hotel. Front door is on the main street (Juan Luis Peralta) right at the start of the lights controlled one way system.
Bedrooms only, no bar or dinning room and keys have to be collected from office a hundred yards of so: Avd Hermano Francisco Nº 1. (From the Hotel – first left going back towards Malaga, “recepcion” is a little way up the hill on the left.)
Bedroom was comfortable and pleasant. Micro wave, fridge and kettle provided along with air conditioning and safe.
The French widows of my room opened out over the municipal square with fountain, seating and palm trees. The Mayors parlour is at one end and a restaurant at the other.

Three bars/ restaurants right opposite the front door and an English bar/ café (L&D’s Sports Bar) around the corner. Turn left out of the front door then left again into c/ Real.

I would recommend this hotel especially for the independent traveller. Location is ideal with all facilities within easy reach. With so many excellent restaurants within walking distance (La Nina particularly) it is a great option.

About 20minuets drive from Malaga airport or Marbella bus passes the front door. Taxi from the airport about €33.00
If hiring a car be careful with car parking. Limited stay on town car park (park their in the morning and you may get towed away!) Use free car park spaces opposite office Avd Hermano Francisco instead.
Two ATM’s right by the hotel.

Room Tip: Pick a room overlooking the square

“Well situated”

We booked one night at the Plazoleta as we had to travel the day before our apartment was available so that we could get a vastly reduced air fare! I booked through booking.com and chose it from the many favourable reviews.

As we were in a car parking in Benalmadena Pueblo has to be taken into account and we were lucky to get a space a few blocks up the road and near the reception building. As someone said it is situated in a tourist office, but this proved to be not a problem. Although the hotel is on the main road the rooms are at the back overlooking a peaceful Plaza de Andalucia with its palm trees and fountains.

The hotel is also well situated for the town centre and all manner of bars and restaurants. It also has free wifi and the login is available from reception.

The room was clean and the bathroom well equipped for more than our overnight stay.

“Photo of hotel and listed amenities posted on the web site were of a different hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2009

We arrived late into the evening to find that the 'reception', which turned out to be a local tourist office, was closed and after two attempts to access the front door of the hotel found the keys sellotaped to the underside of the mailbox outside of the reception, which was situated up a very steep bank. Slightly puzzled by the lay out of the hotel, lack of pool and balcony, we had no option other than to wait until the following day to contact our travel company. Our room was very small and dingy with no seating or table, other than a very small dressing table, which considering we were self catering was cramped. The crockery was chipped with a rather dubious brown ring stain under a mug on the shelf of the cupboard, and the cutlery was minimal. Cooking facilities were limited to a microwave. The hotel leads out directly onto the main street, where there is an endless flow of traffic, as this is a main route to the pueblo. The photo and description of the hotel which were posted on the internet at time of booking were incorrect and when we showed this to the local agents we were told in no uncertain terms that this was not a picture etc of the Plazoleta Hotel. Fortunately our travel company managed to find us alternative accommodation, which we moved to on the second day of our holiday. Not the ideal start for a much needed relaxing break.

“Perfect for couples”

Just came back from La Plazoletta in the beautiful small town Benalmadena Pueblo. It's described as a hotel, but was more like appartments. Our room was very clean and fully equipped with toaster, electric kettle, fridge, satellite tv and complmentary breakfast pastries. Because there were nice restuarants and bars close to the Hotel, we always ate out.
The Pueblo area was in the mountains - it's a long trek from the main Benalmadena coast with the hotels, beach, clubs and bars, but you can take a bus or taxi (beware of the buses - the service is very poor (every 30 minutes) and we found it impossible to get them from the beach and ended paying for a cab). When you come out the hotel, take a left and go down the beautiful streets with white painted houses and flower pots everywhere. You'll find a little square with some lovely restuarant s and a few bars.
If you are brave and fancy a challenge - take a walk to the beach down the mountain. Just head down when you come out of the hotel. It's tough going down and even tougher going back up!
I would recommend Benalmadena Pueblo to couples who want to see the real Spain and to get away from the hustle and bustle in Benalmadena Costa.

It is a very intimate, cosy place, very clean, in the middle of a wonderfull little town, the "Pueblo". Lots of terraces and cafes very close, wonderful view, gives you the feeling you are in a story enviroment. Very nice hostess, small pastry surprises every morning. I would go back again and again.
