“Good Hotel - but too far away from everything.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Good Points -- First of all this is a decent hotel. Hotel and bedrooms very clean, staff are very polite, excellent facilities - nice heated indoor pool, nice gymnasium. Good atmosphere in the bar, plenty of football games shown on various tv's.

Bad Points -- If you intend to visit the Marina in Benalmadena or La Carhuela area of Torremolinos then you need to take a taxi, or else walk for 45 minutes. If you intend to use the train system Renfe, then you need to walk 30 minutes uphill. The hotel itself is located on a hill. I remember another review describing this as " cardiac hill ", and they were fairly accurate. The hill is a killer, however there is a gently sloping path at the rear of the hotel near the indoor pool that leads directly to the supermarket. We ate in the restaurant of the hotel one evening and it was very poor in both choice and quality.

We paid Euro100 ( in total ) for 4 nights, 1 bed apart. with a pool view and this was a pure bargain. If you are looking for a good clean hotel, then you wont go wrong here. A little too far away from everything for me. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Pool view and a high floor level. You will get the sun all day.

“Would Stay Again On A Bargin Break...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Me and my partner booked 4 nights here as a last minute celebration for our engagement, paying on £140 each, self catering. We were very impressed as we arrived to a very clean, specious reception area and within being there only 5 minutes we had checked in and were in our room.

The room itself was average. Average size. Average facilities. Average view - lovely sea view, lovely view of the mountians but also a view of a derelict appartment opposite... But comfortable and clean.

Even though it was sunny and a warm 17oc we wern't brave enough for the outdoor pool (which still looked very clean, along with the sunbeds around it) so went into the indoor pool. This was very warm, clean and with a glass wall you still got the lovely views! Although there was not always a lifeguard on duty so just be aware of small children! Also if there is a lifeguard around there is a limit on the use of the hot tub, of one hour each... Although the spanish life guards are rather bias and allowed the spanish guests to be a little more wild in the pool and spend more time in the facilities.

My other half used the gym and was happy with the limited equipment as the air con and the 'almost-new' look of everything made up for this.

We didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food, but the drinks were reasonable (especially during happy hours) but do be aware the drink menu prices do not include mixers!

The evening entertainment was good and something for all ages until early hours of the night, which, being in the basement, even if you wanted an early night you could not hear.

**YES! There IS A HUGE HILL!! BUT DO NOT let this put you off! We found a way around this!!**

There is a hotel before Benalmadena, you can enter their car park through black gates at the bottom of the hill, get in a lift up to their reception, out through the main doors of their hotel then in through Benalmadena's car park! This way you only have to walk approx 30 metres of the hill.

Perfect location for us though, beach is less than a five minute walk, there is a supermarket within 3 minutes walk, and several good English/Irish bars 5-10 minutes away. (There was a very cheap Chinese - less than five euros for 3 very yummy courses!) And if you fancy a bit of a longer walk there is some lovely fish resturants along the prom, although do be aware minimum fare in a taxi was 4.50 for approx 10 min walk!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view! Much nicer!

“Fine for my five year Old.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Took our grandchild for a week-end to Benalmadena Palace. There is lots for children to enjoy. He had a thoroughly good time. The food was very average. No pasta dish on the Sat. night. The beds were not made up! I would not recommend for couples travelling without children.

“Lovely Hotel, Clean & Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We had a week break at the hotel mid-January on a self-catering basis. Although there was an availability to have meals at the hotel if you wished, we decided to have a bite to eat in the apartment for breakfast & eat out otherwise.
The facilities were fine to prepare a simple breakfast & the microwave/oven was useful.
The apartment was really clean and quite large with a good balcony. As others have said a pool view balcony is best, especially at this time of year for the sun. We asked for an upgrade when we arrived, as we had no choice on booking. They were really busy so couldn't help for the first night, but it was soon sorted the next day. We were quoted a charge of 10 euros per day. It was well worth it, especially with the good weather we had.
The hotel facilities were good & clean and staff we met were friendly & helpful. We had been to the hotel before & we thought that it was as good if not a bit better this time.
There was sky sports available in the bars this time, which was good to keep up with things & watch some of the matches, although this is not for everyone you could avoid it if you wished, but the happy hour in the snack bar from 5-6 was quite busy at times & the sport helped in our opinion.
The main bar was also good & the entertainment was ok, not all to our taste, but was generally well attended & the 9-10 happy hour there helped to make it busy again, which is nice to meet people.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel especially at this time of year & would certainly go again. We think it is good value for money & worth a look at.
There were plenty of bars & places to eat, especially during the day, although some eating places closed early evening.
We really like Asia Restaurant, which had a set menu for 5.30 euros, and was really good value. It was just up the road from Coco's bar on the main road. We also liked Bar 76, a bit further on the main road just after McDonalds. Although we didn't have a bad meal any time, but these places, especially Bar 76, were a bit more busy & bubbly.
Paloma park was also good for a few hours to wander around & feed the animals, even the rabbits woulld eat lettuce from your hand if you were patient. The marina is also well worth a look around, both day & night, the walk is lovely along the front, or there are regular buses that stop right by the hotel road.
All in all a lovely place & hotel to go to for a value for money break at this time of year with a bit of sun hopefully. I think we will hopefully go back again sometime.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have sun this time of year & don't apprear to be any more noisy.
