“Scandalous”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Me and my boyfriend went in Aug 2011 for 1 week all inclusive, where do i start? The staff were ignorant, non spoke English, never bar staff on the bar, no music except for the last night we was there, did not get coat hangers for our , when we asked for toilet paper, the receptionist wanted to give me them at reception for me to take back to the room, the food was unbearable, we did not eat it, we went out to eat, even tho we was all inclusive, the balconies were slanting and plaster dropping off them, the taxi could not find the hotel, we had to wait almost 4 days for our all inclusive bands, we spent most of the time away from the hotel, beds were lumpy and loud along with the air con, never ever again will I go there, the place should be comdemmed along with the 2 other neighboring hotels, in fact they are not hotels they are dumps and we paid £800 each, talk about ripped off, the only good thing about that week is we met a couple from Northern Ireland and a couple from Scotland and that was the only thing that brightened up the week, other than that. DO NOT GO

Room Tip: There is no good rooms

“Avoid this like the plague - or risk getting it!”

I actually feel sorry for the reception staff who were really friendly and helpful, for having to work in this place. I seriously think it is on the point of falling down!. This is evidenced by the huge subsidence cracks on the terrace and the balconies that slope alarmingly (we spoke to some other residents who - like us - were afraid to venture out onto their balconies). It is advertised as having a mini bar in every room (ours had none) and a hair dryer (you have to borrow one from reception) and a safe (this costs extra to use). Our bidet flooded, on two occasions our room wasn't replenished with towels or toilet rolls and there were no clothes hangers so we had to beg for more from one of the cleaners.
The room was shabby and the twin beds (not double as requested) were hard and lumpy. Also there were only 2 tiny lifts for the whole hotel so a lot of time was spent in waiting for one of them. We only had Bed & Breakfast - thank goodness! This was barely edible and the coffee was a disgrace to the name.
Finally, I think that it is apalling that they don't make clear the location of the hotel. It is situated at the top of a VERY steep hill. I am a reasonably fit individual and even I struggled to make a twice daily trip up this precipice. Seriously, if you are elderly or infirm, then you should expect to add the cost of daily taxis to your budget as you will definitely not be able to negotiate this incline.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

STAYED 3HRS!! Couldnt stick it any longer!

Booked into Goya by Low Cost Holidays but were sent to Velazquez on arrival having to walk up the very steep hill in the mid day sun with 2 large suitecases....no offer of help! Checked into Velazquez...everything about it was disgusting including staff - pretended not to understand/speak any English! Rooms couldnt be stayed in and the food couldnt be ate!! Bathroom was a nightmare! DO NOT GO THERE...or to any of the three hotels in the complex!!

“Hostel not Hotel,don't go there.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

This place was full of Spanish youths, (Students I assumed),for the weekend. More like a youth hostel than a hotel. Rooms were very basic, not very clean, hand basin in bathroom insecure, no fridge, TV all Spanish channels. The air con was restricted to times governed by management. Went for one breakfast, just had an orange drink (warm), and a cuppa. Very limited choice with no chance of an English breakfast, seemed to cater mainly for the Spaniards, Went for one evening meal at 7pm, all food on display yet restaraunt not open until 7.30pm, returned at 7.30pm, food not labelled had to guess what most of it was, very little choice in the end, what I did get I ended up leaving as it was barely warm. Told that the food was not cooked on the premises, why I don't know. Went out to eat that night. The all inclusive in this place finished at 10pm not that we bothered with the bar, hardly a soul in it, was told you had to search for barstaff most of the time. Checked out after finding alternative hotel, wouid'nt give this place 2 stars let alone 3. Its 2 sister hotels, adjacent ,are closed, speaks volumes if you ask me.

Have been in this hotel within last year, and i dont recommend anyone to stay in it, 1st, no one knows abt this hotel, and kept searching for it for more than 1 hour !
2nd the hotel is not clean at all, the bathroom wasnt clean,
3rd i was in the 7th floor, and i felt like the balcony would fall in anytime
4th we werent allowed to open the AC for more than 4 hours per day, and only for 2 hours in the morning, and 2 within night, and it was very hot there !!
the only good thing, was the price, and definetly, i am going pay extra to get better next time
BTW, i didnt want to talk about food as well !
