“Not for us”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

The hotel is suited for masses of tourists and if you are looking for some personal space to enjoy your holiday then this is not the place. The buffet is simple and tasteless and it is aimed at mass production and consumption. The hotel is simply too far from any amenities and even though there is a bus stop close by which takes one to the nearby Torremolimos and the many shops and restaurants it is inconvenient.
Staff have limited English comprehension so not easy to convey a message.
Rooms are okay and they do have sea views that are awesome but to enjoy this one has to endure the noisy neighbours.
Not the place for us.

“Not a favourite”

I have made requests for a review of this hotel many times before I visited so it is only fair to write this review after my visit. What can I say, except to say a lot of the reviews worried me but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could not agree with all of the negatives. I must say though that I can honestly say that it is the only holiday I have been on where I am looking forward to going home! However, I cannot blame the hotel or it´s staff as they were all helpful and pleasant. I will give the positives first. The hotel is very clean and the staff helpful and obliging. The rooms were very pleasant and clean. The televisions though are very antiquated and only show BBC World and CNN in English so do not expect to keep up with any soaps etc! The beach in front of the hotel is very clean but you have to pay for the beds and the sunshade as it does not belong to the hotel. The hotel pool is down the road away from the hotel. The beds are in a shabby condiiton as are some of the umbrellas. Now to the negatives. The food at the hotel leaves much to be desired. It consisted of mainly slops which was obviously food left over from the day before and reconstituted and for the food served at the (I will use the term loosely) carvery, the fish or whatever ran out quickly and any left was cold or you had to wait an age for the next lot to be cooked. I cannot speak negatively enough about the lack of choice of desserts. If you liked cold runny rice pudding you were ok. The fruit choice was negligible, I never saw a grape during a two week stay and the bananas were pounced upon and disappeared as you watched and if you wanted ice cream I found out by chance that it was kept in fridges at the side of the restaurant. This was in tiny cartons containing about three spoonfuls. I could go on but would run out of space. If you are travelling alone do not even consider this hotel. I can honestly say I spoke to two British couples whilst there. Unfortunately they went home during my first week. I travel frequently on holiday and have made many friends from different countries but this is the only place I have ever stayed that made me feel uncomfortable. Now to the location. If you want to be totally isolated then this is the place for you. Enough said. In conclusion I will just say I will definitely not be making a return visit.

Room Tip: Do try to get a room above the 8th floor as this is where the reception is. the restaurant is on th...

“22-29th Sept 2011 Enjoyable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Very recently returned from the hotel after a week away with my friend, both british (26/34). Must admit I was very worried following some reviews.
On our arrival we got our room details and checked in smoothly. The room was very bright and clean over looking the sea (all rooms have a sea view) on the top floor. The hotel is very large and although we met a number of English, many on return visits, it did cater for the Spanish, such as entertainment, and some members of staff struggled to understand us, but were still happy and polite all the same. At times we felt a little like outsiders but it is Spain and we were visiting their Country!
All areas of the hotel were clean and we witnessed a number of staff cleaning and even maintaining the outside areas (footpaths/steps to beach etc) the beach was cleaned daily as was the pool area.
We really enjoyed the food especially the puddings, we stayed all inclusive. On the bar menu for a small number of drinks there is a small charge but we didn't incur any extra bill. Crisps and tubed ice cream are also included! There is a great shop and a hairdresser (never used).
Just outside the hotel is a bus stop, although a little over crowded at times it gets you around for very little money. The train is also nearby but we had gone for a lazy week and only went out once. Outside the hotel is a round about with boat if you follow the small road you come to a couple of bars and supermarket and if you contiue round and under the bridge you will come to a kwik save supermarket. Back in the hotel if you are a smoker reception will turn on the machine for you!
We did have a couple of problems but the staff did everything to help us and we were happy with their assistance 1) for some reason were put as half board instead of all inclusive, corrected straight away 2) ants in the room and we were put in another room and room deep cleaned and all well on our return, happy with service. I would return to the hotel with my husband and three children in the future.
Tips:
Reception/bar/shop/hairdresser 8th floor
Food 7th floor
indoor/outdoor Pool and gym 1st floor
(it's a lovely short walk along beach front to the pool but there is a bar including snacks)
Four lifts

Room Tip: We had room 1133 on 11th floor, great view and very quiet

Visited this Hotel in September 2011 ...First impression was very good ,but on arrival the receptionist was unfriendly and not very helpful ,, very poor English .... The room looked nice and the bed not too hard , but we had to take a very quick walk to the supermarket to get some Ant killer ..as the room was infested with them , This hotel is ideal if all you want to do is get out of bed have breakfast and go on the beach or pool ... because you step out of the hotel right onto the beach ...The pool is 5 minutes away and you need a card to enter but it is not kept tidy, some of the beds were broken, dirty and just thrown in a heap ...The dining room was very nicely set out .. except the hot food area ...if you were'nt there when it was taken off the hot plate it was put in a tray which was'nt even kept warm ... so quite often it would be cold ...I like nothing better than to finish my day off with a walk then some entertainment ... Well there was none of that !!!! the hotel is situated on the outskirts of Benalmadena on a dual carriage way there is only 1 pub ,2 shops.and 2 restaurants ... nothing to see and the entertainment at the hotel does not cater for English people ....

Room Tip: All rooms have sea views as the corridors are facing the dual carriage way , but the traffic noise w...
