“Not What It Says”

This hotel is a disappointment. The breakfast is poor beyond belief, with a lack of fresh fruit, yoghurts and if you ask for eggs expect a brusque answer that these will be charged. There were ants in the restaurant which we pointed out to the staff, moved tables, but they didn't stop other couples sitting at the infested tables. The location is unsatisfactory. They don't tell you it is on a gated all inclusive complex, with 3 large family orientated hotels. with loud childrens clubs early evening, nor that on one side there is a main road underneath the cliff edge, and on the other the train line - so expect to be woken up in the morning. We had upgraded to a suite and the room was lovely, but the tv should have picked up UK satellite and didn't nor could it be fixed in our 3 day stay. Unlike Uk hotels to use the spa it will cost you, if we remember correctly €30 each, the outside pool area ws good, but drinks very expensive. We actually got an earlier flight home, as we were so frustrated and disappointed. Only benefit we found an excellent fish restaurant a 20 minute walk away, who had our custom each night, as we didn't want to give this hotel any more of our money.

“Total relaxation”

Very relaxing hotel on the Costa del Sol. Small hotel but all rooms are large, modern and, best of all, have a jacuzzi on the terrace. Hotel is quiet, has good service and has an excellent pool area which is spacious and has big comfy beds to lie on. The only downside was that the outside bar was closed (maybe because it was October - but a pity as the weather was great). There's also a nice looking spa (although I didn't get a chance to use it).

Location is fine (about half way between Fuengirola and Benalmadena) and there's a decent beach only a short walk away. You'll need a car if you want to travel much and a taxi to Benalmadena's marina (for bars and restaurants) takes 10 minutes and costs €12. The hotel is part of the larger "Holiday World" complex but you only notice that when travelling in and out of the complex.

In summary, a quiet and relaxing hotel which is ideal for a romantic break. Will definitely return.

“Holiday Hydros Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

My wife and I have just returned from a nine night stay in this hotel and all I can say is WOW! From the moment you enter, you are treated more as a friend than a guest by every member of the wonderful staff. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom Levanda suite which meant dual aspect views of the Med and the pool. Rooms are superbly appointed, with everything one could need, including a fantastic rain head shower. The living area had flatscreen TV, sofa, table and 4 chairs, 2 armchairs, minibar, safe, marble floors and chic lighting. Bedroom 1 had an enormous bed, TV,loads of storage and opened out onto a large balcony, with 2 sun loungers and table and chairs. The other balcony, off the living area, had table, chairs and a hot tub, which was kept at an ambient temperature and was good fun! The hotel interior is very chic, lots of chrome, marble, cotemporary design and colours. The Restaurant boasts stunning views of the Med and the coastline and serves a bountiful, continental, breakfast. The pool area is a real winner. Because the hotel is boutique sized (28 rooms) the pool never gets over busy. The Balinese beds with luxurious leathrette matrasses and cushions are amazingly comfortable. There are lots of loungers and chairs also, as well as a poolside snack bar. The Spa is very well equipped and has wonderful sea views. Throughout the Hotel, the staff are a great asset. Warm, friendly and attentive, without being in any way obtrusive, particularly Patricia and her colleague on reception for whom nothing was too much trouble. Also they are ridiculously attractive! All in all this was a truly memorable stay in a truly wonderful hotel and one we can't wait to repeat, thank you Holiday Hydros

Room Tip: Levanda suites have dual aspect.

“what a wonderful hotel”

i have just returned from a 5 day break at Holiday Hydro and thought it merited me putting a review on trip advisor. Our stay was so relaxed and the staff were really attentive. The pool area was wonderful with 8 cabanas situated at the left over looking a wonderful sea view. Very quiet and relaxing and was well worth the money. The hotl its self was so clean and very chic in appearance. The breakfast a contintenal but you couldnt fault it at all. The Hotel is sItuated a little way from town but only 10 euros in a taxi or a short bus ride away. Would highly recommend this hotel

“You Decide”

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is located at the top of a hill and is accessed via a gated entrance at the bottom of the hill. There are two other hotels on the complex and these are massive. There is no entertainment at the Hydros but don't be fooled into thinking it is quiet at night! Both the other hotels have their outdoor entertainment either side of the front of the Hydros and the music, karaoke etc goes on until midnight every night and can be heard loudly in your room.
Location - You approach the hotel over a railway bridge which is right at the front of the hotel. Trains run throughout the day but are electric and are therefore not too noisy. As the hotel is a long way from the front gate, a courtesy bus will run you down to the front gate and back BUT it stops working at 6.00pm, 8.00pm I think on Saturdays only. This means that if you leave the noise of the resort to go out for dinner you have to walk 15 minutes uphill to get back to the hotel upon your return - unless you get a taxi. The nearest towns take approximately 15 -20mins on the local buses. These are cheap 1.30 Euro per trip, the taxi fare is 10 Euro's each way.
Breakfast - typical continental. Have to ask for granulated sugar if you want it on your cereal, we had to have sugar cubes on the first morning as they had no other sugar! Milk for cereal comes out luke warm unless you ask for cold milk. Orange marmalade is not always available.
Rooms - nice to have lounge area. Bathroom and bedroom are nice. The view from our room consisted of a side sea view, the railway track and overhead cables and a main road. Balcony area was private and the jacuzzi was OK, water is already in it when you arrive but not sure if it is clean water!
Swimming Pool - lovely and clean and very quiet, only a few people use it. I think that guests from the other two hotels can also use it if they want.
Reception areas - very bright and clean, pleasing on the eye. Reception staff are helpful and try their best to address any problems that you may have. Not all staff can speak English.
Hotel restaurant - we did not use it for our evening meals as it was expensive and the food choice was limited to mainly fish. Lovely view from restaurant which we enjoyed at breakfast.
Spa - 30 Euro for 1.5hours. Looked nice but at the price we did not use it.
If you enjoy lots of noise, waiting around for the local buses, paying for taxis each way to go into town, steep walks and having nothing to do at the resort except swim or paying to use the spa, then this is the hotel for you.
