Location: quiet area, next to Neisse river and bridge crossing the river to Poland, located within park area, lots of very old trees, road used to access hotel only. Historic part of the city a 10-minutes’ walk away, easy access.
Frontdesk: friendly staff, supportive, though sometimes the guest has to emphasize that something is important for him/her.
Room: had nice, clean room, stripped to the necessities of travellers’ needs, far away from kind of loud lift, only one worked in the 5-storey-hotel; room faced park behind hotel, thus was very quiet, provided fellow-guests don’t make too much noise, as walls not too sound-proof. We were lucky, had a very quiet night. Room itself offers quite some space.
Breakfast: disappointing, specially for that level of hotel, average buffet, not to compare with the delicious breakfast the Elbflorenz in Dresden, a **** hotel as well, offered a night later
Garage: in basement, easy access, charge EUR 9.20/night; but there would be parking space out in the street as well.
Internet: WLAN, charge is EUR 3/hour, other offers available as well, speed is ok.
Food: didn’t try the restaurant in the hotel, there are most exquisite restaurants in the old part of the city; but be aware, you have to be very hungry to finish your plate ;-) we couldn’t.
A MUST: try the delicious local sweets and pastries at the GALERIE 13 uphill to the old church - not only a nice place to sit at, easy access to Poland across 2 bridges – and a very cheerful waiter/owner (?) ;-)
