“Good hotel, comfortable and great dinners!”

We stayed in Hotel Les Menuires in January for a week for our annual ski holiday. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with really hot showers! The evening meal was always 5 courses with a couple of choices and cheese, which were great. The breakfasts were not so good, being the same every day and a slightly limited choice but they included the usual bread, cheese, meats and croissants choices you would expect in France and a do-it-yourself bolied egg maker that we never quite got the hang of!

We are unlikely to stay here again as we normally go to a chalet but it is a hotel we would recommend.

“A great experiance”

This lovely little hotel is a real find. From the minute you enter the door Emmanual and Roxanne, the Hotel owners, make you feel very welcome.
There is a cosy bar and lounge area which we looked forward to returning to every day after a hard day's skiing. The bar man looked after us whether he was serving us delicious homemade waffles and hot chocolate, or an extra special pre-dinner cocktail!
The sauna and jacuzzi were great for our aching muscles and lovely fresh towels and showers gel were provided.
Evening meals were delicious with a variety of fresh home cooked dishes to suit all tastes and finishing every evening meal was a huge selection of local cheeses.
We all enjoyed this special little hotel and would recommend it to all.

“Beautiful owner run hotel. Great friendly service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

We stayed at Le Menuire for a week and it was the best skiing hotel experience we have had in years. Roxane, the owner could not be more charming and helpful and the staff were extremely pleasant. The room was cleaned every day and the meals were great. 5 course meals every night (if you see tarte tatin on the menu , have it. fantastic!) and a great break fast buffet. The croissant was better than a lot of places in Paris.

The rooms were spacious enough with plenty storage space. The walls are solid enough not to hear people in adjacent rooms.

I would definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The only fault I could find was that the pillows were not to my liking!

“This hotel is a little gem!”

My husband and I had a fantastic week in this hotel. Roxanne and Emmanuel are the perfect hosts and their staff are exceptional. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout our stay.

The food was first class. The choice and quality was way beyond what we expected and the portions were generous. Just what you need after a hard day's skiing! There was a good wine list and we particularly liked the regional Gamay which was about 17 Euro a bottle.

The hotel has a cosy bar and lounge, with a large TV screen and we were happy to spend our evenings there. Karim the bar man is such a character and his cocktails are something else! We liked the fact that the bar was reasonably quiet but if you're after lively night life then you'd have to go out. Other bars etc are only a short walk away.

Our room was comfortable and clean and had a small balcony. Bedding was changed half way through the week. The temperature of the radiators in the bathroom and bedroom was easy to adjust which was fortunate at the weather went from unseasonably warm at the beginning of the week to extremely cold at the end.

Our rep said that a couple of people had complained that the hotel wasn't what they would consider to be ski in ski out. It's quite true that you can't ski up to the ski room door but you don't have to walk far. You only have to walk accross the car park in the morning to pick up a run down to a lift that takes you to Croisette. Coming back if you take the path at the number 1 piste marker on La Violette, it comes out directly opposite the hotel. Quite honestly we didn't feel this was an issue - and that's from someone who hates carrying her skis far!

The only negative comment I would make is that there is no changing room in the spa area but I'd come prepared next time. You have to walk through the bar/lounge to get to the spa so be warned otherwise you'll end up plodding through in your towel.

The hotel exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it. It really is a little gem.

“Warm welcome in a great ski hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2010

We travelled with Neilson and chose the hotel largely based on the reviews, and were not disappointed. Probably the most spacious room we have had in the French Alps, well maintained and clean. Welcome chocolates were a nice touch.

Roxane and Emmanuel and all their staff couldn't do enough for us, but without being intrusive. Karim, in charge of the bar, entertained us with his cocktails and his waffle making! Prices were not especially cheap, but probably cheaper than much of Trois Vallees. The cheapest bottles of red on the menu were EUR17.00 but perfectly quaffable.

Dinner was an excellent 5 course feast and the breakfast bar was very well stocked. On the day we left, our transfer left long before breakfast was served, and Roxane made sure we took away a packed breakfast for the journey.

Eventhough it's not a traditional ski-in ski-out set up, it's possible to ski down to a chair from the back of the car park, and then at the end of the day, ski back down to the coach park across the road, look for the turning after the number 1 marker at the end of the Violette run. It certainly saves the walk!

The jacuzzi was very welcome after a long day, as was the sauna. I imagine it might get quite busy, but we were lucky in going during one of the quieter weeks of the season.

We would definitely return.
